good was great as usually and service was amazing as well.. artichoke hearts francaise, portabella appetizer were amazing and Osso Bucco in special and shrimp fra diavalo were perfect. Two of my kids devoured chicken mona Lisa. I rarely have anything bad to say about this place… it was a great family dinner! View all feedback.
What Gil C dislikes about Monalyssa:
Food was very bland. Not a very good meal for the price. Appetizers. Calamari very hard. Sauce with no flavor. Tomatoes and mozzarella. Tomatoes cut so thin you can see through them. Pasta dishes bland with no taste. Would not recommend, nor go there again. View all feedback.
I live near this restaurant, making it very convenient for me. In a town with limited vegan options, I appreciate that they offer a variety of choices for vegans, despite not being a fully vegan establishment. They frequently have vegan options on their daily specials menu. Although it may look like a small pizzeria at first glance, the dining room on the other side is actually quite pleasant. It's a fantastic option for families looking for a vegan meal, especially if dining with non-vegans, as the food is delicious for everyone.
There are no vegan restaurants in this area, so it's a treat when a restaurant offers a full vegan menu instead of just one option. I tried the 4-course meal during Jersey Shore Restaurant Week, which included vegan avocado bruschetta, salad with balsamic dressing, vegan eggplant rollatini with angel hair pasta, and a vegan raspberry tart. The avocado bruschetta was fantastic, loaded with tomatoes, avocado, onions, basil, and balsamic glaze. The eggplant rollatini was also delicious, with a generous filling of ricotta and mozzarella. However, the sauce on the angel hair pasta was a bit watery. The restaurant is small with only about 7 tables, so unfortunately, you may smell other meat dishes. The staff was attentive, but the wait time was a bit long, so it's best not to go when you're extremely hungry. I would definitely return to try their other vegan options.
The food was delicious as always. Their new vegan options is a great added feature to an already excellent menu. The service is always fantastic as well
