This review is about the restaurant upstairs, there is a sto... read more Slunecnice (Sunflower) is a well established place for vegetarian/vegan food in Pilsen city centre. This review is about the restaurant upstairs, there is a store/buffet downstairs, where I never ate. Slunecnice is a place to go for me when I want to have lunch/dinner with friends who 1) have children (there is a sofa and some toys availible though no changing table), 2) aren't vegetarians/vegans, as the restaurant serves quite good meat. I personally like their tempeh burger I'm having it over and over again when I'm visiting Pilsen. But it already happend to me that they ran out of the buns or tempeh, so that I had to make other choice which is okay, the only problem is, that they haven't changed the veggie menu since like 6 years when I was living in Pilsen and Slunecnice used to be one of the few places in Pilsen where you can get other vegetarian food then salad... I would definitely appreciate more creativity. Apart from that nicely designed interior, but last time there was loudly playing some czech radio station as a background music not very supportive for the ambiente... So I really appriciate Slunecnice as they were pioneers of veggie food in Pilsen, but at the same time they should be careful in keeping the pace with the rest of the world there are now more places where you can have a very good vegetarian or vegan food and Slunecnice kind of stays as an option for meeting the two criteria I mentioned above, but it wouldn't be my first choice anymore.
