While many patrons appreciate the stunning landscape and friendly staff, complaints abound about inconsistent food quality and service. Issues like food allergy management and incorrect orders have led some to advise caution, particularly for those with dietary restrictions. Those who had enjoyable meals often emphasize the breakfast options and the ambiance, making it a suitable spot for relaxed mornings or special occasions. However, a noticeable decline in standards post-renovation has left some regulars disappointed, prompting calls for management to address these concerns.
Extremely disappointed. We have been regulars for many years and since the cafe has undergone a 'revamp ' there has been a noticeable decline in the level of service, food quality and waiting times. The quality and portions of food do match the extortionate prices. Strongly advise management to look into increasing numbers of staff and lowering the extortionate prices. We will not be heading back there again, a more reliable service will be provided elsewhere along the waterfront.
Very poor service!!!!! Ordered two hot drinks and a piece of cake brought hot drinks over and reminded them about the cake. Rudely said he knew and would bring it over —— 15 minutes later still waiting!!! Staff seen not serving anyone— Why not bring it at the same time when there was clearly space on the tray!! What a joke of a place. update— brought extra cake out as the piece of cake was small !
I have been a regular at The Terrace in Plymouth for some time, drawn in by its beautiful views and great service in the past. However, my recent visit left me extremely disappointed and unsure if I will return. It was evident from the beginning that changes had taken place since my last visit. The staff appeared disinterested and unhelpful, seemingly ignoring the customers. Ordering drinks was a challenge, and the service was painfully slow. Despite prepaying for our meal, it took an incredibly long 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food to arrive. After waiting for 45 minutes, we were informed that they had run out of chicken, which should have been communicated earlier since our order was prepaid. When the food finally arrived, it was a disaster. My £18 burger was dry and burnt, with the bread falling apart. My partner's £16 scallop dish was also disappointing, with only five small scallops served (no sides either!). To make matters worse, I heard complaints from other tables nearby. The unapproachable manager seemed to be having a bad day, but that is no excuse for neglecting customers. Additionally, there was only one toilet which led to a long queue. Given the decline in service and food quality, I believe some form of compensation is necessary. I hope the management addresses these issues promptly to regain the standards that once made The Terrace a enjoyable place to dine.
I had the chicken Kiev burger and it was the best burger I have ever had. Huge compliments to the chef for creating such a delicious dish. The atmosphere and service were also fantastic. I am loving it. Thank you!
Quick and friendly service. Burgers are just heaven!
