We love coming here as a family, whether it's for a quick drink, appetizers, lunch, or some time by the pool. Taylor is an amazing bartender who really holds everything together, and the atmosphere is always so welcoming! I also appreciate that this place is frequented by regulars, and they are all incredibly friendly—just like the entire staff! View all feedback.

I went there with my dog last summer to eat outside and ordered a meal and a beer. They shut me down and, when I asked why the girl said it's because I have a dog they won't serve me alcohol, outside. She couldn't give me an explanation why ? View all feedback.
What a find! We went on the shore and checked all the big restaurants, but it was such a nice day (10/22) we wanted to eat out somewhere outside the wind. The Shanty Rose caught our eye and nobody was eating outside. We entered a busy relaxed emotional bar and asked the server if we could order it and take it outside. She told us to help a table and she'd be out. We took the first table at the corner and as promised, it was ready at our table with menus to take our drink order. We ordered chowder and a filled mussel (Yum) and split a Cape Cod Ruben (Beautifully roasted fresh Cod on thick crusts marble rye served with crispy French fries). Thank you for sharing parts are generous! We totally enjoyed each other, and the icing on the cake was that we watch at least 20 classic cars slowly motor by crossing the area.
A weekend trip and a recommendation from a local friend brought us to The Shanty Rose... exactly what we wanted! This is a great spot filled with very friendly locals. The staff is hardworking and very pleasant. We went for the cold beer on a hot afternoon and also ordered the Philly egg rolls and nachos, not for a five star cuisine experience. It was perfect and when in the area, we will be back again!

This place is small but a true hidden gem. Food, Service and prices are 10/10. Lobster roll was huge!
We visited the town of Plymouth and we wanted to try some local food. We hit the jackpot! Excellent crab cakes, yummy huge beer-battered onion rings, and crispy/moist haddock. My husband had the clam chowder and said it was in his top four of great tasting chowders. Staff was super friendly and a great view of the wharf — Great service and fun music!
