I love the boba tea here! Try the mango mixed with strawberry, it’s the best! The baked good are always fresh and super cheap. My favorite items to buy are the hot dog rolls, sponge cake, the cheese bun and the coconut cream roll. I usually take him a 6/8pk of bread rolls, they are incredibly soft. The only problems I have here for not rating it a 5star is the language barrier issue, sometimes the female owner comes... View all feedback.
What Terri C doesn't like about New Asia Bakery:
I haven't seen any authentic asian bakeries in South Jersey..until now. I'm glad I found this place through yelp. It's good to know that there's an asian bakery here when you are in South Jersey. It's a small counter, located in an asian supermarket in Pleasantville, NJ. Most of their buns are $1 or $1.25 and it's buy 6 get 1 free. Their buns look larger in size than other places. Have been coming to this bakery since I was little. along with my usual stuff I try something new every time I go and she never disappoints.
The restaurant had a limited selection of desserts, with no pork dumplings, red bean buns, or BBQ baked buns available. They only offered steamed buns, specifically the white ones.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. They used to have a large array of items, including pigs in blankets and egg custard tarts. Lots of fruity cakes on display, and a variety of buns and breads... Nowadays, they seem to moreso have coconut custard bread, BBQ pork buns (char siu bao I always look it up, but Google claims the only places that sell it are in Philly), cake rolls, cookies, and sweet bread. Bubble tea is good here, too. For first timers: Go for the things that would generally move quickly, to ensure freshness I recommend the almond cookies, which are extremely delicate and mildly sweet. The woman working the counter always says that she doesn't speak English, but if you treat her kindly and keep that barrier in mind, she'll be respectful in return. While she was generally happier when I was a child, I think the years of dealing with people have left her worn out. So think of the soup chef from Seinfeld; point at what you want, pay for it, thank her, and move along.
I really enjoy this bakery! Ignore the negative reviews, the baked goods here are delicious.
