Hidden little gem! Came here for breakfast! Yummy tender pancakes and very good chilaquiles! Plus it has a stunning view of the beach! You can enjoy the sound of the crashing waves. Just be prepared to walk down a steep set of stairs! View all feedback.
I really want this place to good but it is a let down most times that I come. I have been coming to this place for years, and the service is consistently horrible for large groups. This time was no different. They never have enough staff when large groups arrive. We didn't get our drinks until 45 minutes after we arrived and our food like hour and a half after we arrived. The waiter told us they had no red wine at all which was a shock in and of itself, but we later found out that it was not true. The waiter never came to offer us additional drinks and we had to go to the bar to get drinks on our own after the first round. When we got our food, the waiter had no idea who got what and mixed up orders. When he looked at the tacos he just guessed what kind they were mixing them up. As all this wasn't bad enough, the food was horrible. The so called rib eye tacos had the meat too tough to eat like jerky. I literally could not chew it. There were also complaints about the octopus as well. I just don't get this place. It could be so much more popular if they got their act together. It is in a beautiful cove and for years. I have been coming here having to deal with bad service, but this time was the first time that the food was literally inedible. Such a shame. Definitely looking for a different option.

This place is worth finding. I am guessing at the Kilometer number but it is just south of The Rocas exit of the Couta (Pay Road) onto the Libre (Free) road to Ensenada just after the exit for The Rosarito Beach Hotel. About 200 yards past the Pink and Purple Hotel (you won't miss that) is a sign on the for Castillos del mar Hotel on the right, beach side. Enter that parking lot and head toward the beach. You will finally see a sign for Sunio Beach Club pointing down stairs (no handicap access) The restaurant is located about 10 feet above crashing surf and very beautiful. The seafood is tops!!! If you are a guy order at least 2 of the spicy Shrimp tacos OR the Marlin tacos.. These tacos are done quesadilla style. YUMMM. I had one Marlin taco and the Medusa tostada, a mix of octopus, scallops, and shrimp. Fantastic! My wife had the Campechana, a cocktail style of various seafood which was stellar. They have platters of everything fresh that day from the sea as well a steaks and burgers. No draft beer but lots of Mexican bottled beer. Full Bar! They do take credit cards but the machine wasn't working that day so bring some cash in case. A lunch for 3 adults with 2 drinks each was less than $50. tip included. It is hard to find but once you do, you WILL be back. If you thought this review was helpful, let trip advisor know.
