This is the best place to go to in Puerto Nuevo. It is way in the back, so when you drive in try not to hit all the salesmen trying to get you to go to their place. Instead drive all the way to the back and then left to the end of the road. They have parking back there. The food is excellent as you can't go wrong ordering any of the lobster items (sold by size in various prices). Their fajitas and other Mexican dishe... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ortega's Patio:
Yes the tortilla's are huge..... The size of a manhole cover. The aguachile was too spicy for my wife, the fajitas were not the best, the meat was overcooked, and very very tough, and had way to much cheese. The service was decent, but no one in our party of 6 thought it was that good. The best part was the views, and the bread when you got to the cheese and chile that was stuffed in it.This place is cash only! Bueno!
We ate on the roof terrace with a beautiful view. The food was good and the price was fair. The service was great.
CROOKS. And you want to read on to find out how a manager ruins my and my friends weekend vacation. Tonight to Ortega for the first meal this weekend holiday with the gf. We were starved when we came to the city, so we fell our things in our hotel and drove from there to dinner. We hear good things about Ortega, sit with an amazing view, food was bomb, but wait, there is more! Time to pay $86 for the meal, not bad at all, considering we have a bottle of wine, 2 apps, and lobster and steak for entrees. Take out my card to pay and weops “we’re just cash.” Okayyy? This place is like a Ruths Chris. Back even ICE CREAM TRUCKS TAKE CARDS NOW! Whatever. So they tell us it and ATM over the street. I'm going, Boom card is rejected. Okay, let me try my Gfs... also rejected. Now I don't speak Spanish (remember this for later) and so I have my gf going to get cash, maybe I'm stupid and miss something obvious, idk. Oh btw they would let us both go, but this place is not exactly safe and it gets dark. So she comes back as 20 minutes later saying that she went to 5 ATMs and nobody works, apparently all breaths in Baja Mexico are not working. Idk, too. Anyway, she was followed by the "Manager" aka this total **** on Earth thief. So they go back and forth for 10 minutes, and I'm just sitting where I see my water like a fool who doesn't know the conversation. My Gf is super-level head, but I've never seen them frustrating them, so I think something like they're paying us a hard time about the return tomorrow... because this is the year 2019 and of course they're not about us to force dishes or anything. Next I know my Gf, on the edge of tears from their anger, hands him their sunglasses, which I bought them last year as a gift. That's $300. She grabs my hand and we're leaving. Again I have no idea what's going on until we get to the parking lot. I am also in unbelief, like one from the body, what happens only experience? Apparently, the restaurant MANAGER, the leader, the "man" who gives the example that everyone else should follow her that she needed to leave him something of equal or greater value, which explains why she pointed to her watch, her RING and her glasses. The boldness of this “manager” to ask for a woman’s jewelry. Bro. Who the hell do you think you are? As really, close your eyes and face this day at the age of going to a restaurant and about a personal belonging due to a miscommunication. No communication when we're technically. So from one manager to another, here is how easy it is to create a happy customer. That's so easy. Are you ready? 1. You tell your customers of the minute that they set foot in your restaurant that you have a cash only business and the atms are not working in a 200 miles radius 2. ... there is no number two. That's it. It's so easy. Finally, I have no doubt that this place with this Bafoon will be a model for a whole staff. Again, food was great, see amazing, please fire him so you don't ruin someone else's vacation.
Go to Puerto often. Usually go to another restaurant but the view at this place called us. It has roof top seating, which has a breathtaking view. Ordered Lobster, Shrimp, and Fish combo. It included rice, beans, and some sort of tortilla soup prior to...the meal. It was plenty of food and tasted great, it ran me about $20. Beer is around $2.50, pricey for Mexico but way cheaper than what we would pay back home. Staff is really good and the mariachi there, sounds really good
First time to Puerto Nuevo so we had to do the lobster. There are no lack of places in a small area and we had heard Ortega's was the place to go. There are a couple of Ortega's in the village so I am not...sure which one we were really at. If you turn in at the arch and go to the water the road pretty much dead ends into the one we went to. The lobster was outstanding as were all the fixings. I ordered the medium (see photo) and wife ordered the small. Next time I am doing the small and maybe two orders of the small to share a half. Don't get me wrong the medium was good, but the small seemed to have better flavor. The medium was a little strong on the fish taste with the small being sweeter and more mild. Both were good tasting however. As everybody comments, it's not the cheap of eats of yesteryear. But then again what is? We still walked away at $56 including a **** mary and margarita. Word of caution, they take only cash. There are two ATM's in town that will dispense USD. I tried both after breakfast as wife wanted to take some trinkets back for the grandkids and neither ATM worked. So make sure to arrive with plenty of cash because the ATM's might be down.
