Outstanding food, but the logistics need a tweak We had a really lovely meal at Emmax. The food itself is fantastic and very reasonably priced, we paid €40 for two meals and two beers, which felt like fair value for the quality served. However, the service was a bit sluggish. It took quite a while to get a look at the menu, which is currently a large chalkboard shared between multiple tables. While some might find it a unique quirk, from a service flow perspective, it’s a bit of a bottleneck. It would be much more efficient to have a few smaller boards or individual menus to speed things up. We also experienced a long wait to get the bill and pay at the end. It’s a 4-star experience for me because the food is great and the atmosphere is boosted by a very easy on the eye waiter, but the speed of service definitely has room for improvement!

Wow, what a place, the staff were so lovely and really helpful with our little boy. The menu changes by the looks of things and with a nice selection of food but not an overwhelming amount of choice. Delicious fresh pastas and an excellent orange tiramisu. Definitely reccomend the black penne with prawns also it's accompanied by so beautiful beach views and priced accordingly to the exceptional quality. Thank you for such a lovely meal!

A great restaurant overlooking the sea. Fabulous food. I had fish cakes as a starter which was excellent. The tagliatelle main course with their homemade pasta in a gorgonzola sauce was sublime

The restaurant operates on a chalk board menu which changes so it is difficult to know exactly what is on the menu each day. As vegetarians we had looked at their website and they seemed to offer some interesting vegetarian options so had booked a table. However when after a long wait the menu board was brought to us the options were very poor.. When I asked the waitress she jabbed her finger at the two vegetarian starters (one of which was vegetable soup) and at a pasta main dish that looked as if it was chicken and mushrooms. I protested and then I realised it was written as no chicken chicken i.e. some sort of non meat substitute made to look and taste like chicken I assume. When I tried to say I didn 't eat fake meat the waitress just turned her back and went off to another customer. There was no apology or suggestion that they could offer anything else. So after a long time trying to get anyone 's attention inside so we could just pay for our glasses of wine, we left and certainly would not return. Not just because of the lack of menu choice (which to be honest in this day and age was very surprising) but because of the lack of politeness and consideration in the service.
