When we travel we want the local flavor. Asked the hotel guy for a recommendation. The place doesn't look that great but the food was amazing! Friendly waitstaff took us out back - plastic tables and chairs with homemade lanterns. They were thrilled to have non local tourists visiting and went out of their way to make us feel at home. read moreBased on reviews of tripadvisor we have decided to try this “local” restaurant on the other side of the autobahn through playa, although very walkable from the city. when we first approached the restaurant, we were a little hesitant to enter because there were only a few tables....But in the back restaurant (after the passage through the kitchen), it is beautiful and with local and tourist. what can be better! the service was great, prices great, eating delicious! the garnelen cazuela was recommended as an excellent local dish, and it was! served absolutely piping hot in a beautiful dish. my man had grilled fish....and he couldn't decide between the garlic sauce and the tequila sauce, so he had both. And both were delicious. nothing has ever had enough garlic for him, but he was ever so happy!
read moreWe have been coming to playa for years and wanted to eat where the locals go. we found Man-Kii and were thrilled! manuel and zaide were our hostess and treated us like family. there was the court where we ate, beautiful. we heard again and again: “It is not unusual, but eating is good,” we will be fine and eating was amazing. 5 stars seafood, local Mexican cuisine, which is not beaten and hospitable to beat. Don't miss it!
read moreAn authentic Mexican restaurant. Their name mankii means beyond delicious and that fits the bill! Fabulous food great hosts, we were treated like family. The food was incredible to the taste and to the eyes (limes & tomatoes cut into flowers). Drinks, ceviche, steak and a sea food platter were huge and delicious. No one spoke much English but we practiced our Spanish and they were excited. VERY INEXPENSIVE too. Highly recommend if you are looking for the off the beaten path restaurant.
