Tried stopping by here several times over my 6 week stay in Playa but this place was never open. I peeked in the windows and it looks like all of the furniture is there but stacked up against the wall. There was no note on the windows or door (that I could see) indicating that the place was closed temporarily and nothing on their Facebook page.

Jas (pronounced Jazz) is the owner of this streetside cafe. It's a good place to have a simple breakfast and coffee, but is exemplary in providing excellent conversation and tourist advice. Jas knows virtually everything and everybody and is willing to shoot the breeze with his customers. He is an Englishman, but likes Americans, as well as anybody in this part of the world does, and likes to talk to almost anybody. Whether you are a tourist adrift in a foreign land, or a contributor to a travel magazine looking for what's happening in Playa del Carmen, Jas is the guy to consult.
