There are so many excellent Mexican places to eat that I can't keep track. None have been really disappointing. This place had great tacos and refried beans. I wish I had more time to enjoy it again View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about El Charro:
We walked around for 45 minutes trying to find this place. Back and forth. The first person we asked didn't know where it was and finally we found some locals that told us it had closed down, so we went to El Fogon. View all feedback.
El charro at ocean maya royale was great, best service I ever had. the staff went beyond and beyond to please us. the barkeepers in the pool, in foyer and in el charro were great, but I would like to thank jenaro, adrian, david, Aurora,...Selene and ana iris for simply staying there wonderful. also please, if they type the personal, I know it's an all inclusive place, but they really work hard there to keep them in.

We chose this restaurant for dinner during our stay in PDC based on the excellent trip advisor reviews and it did not disappoint!! Set 4 blocks back from the highly touristy and overpriced 5th avenue, this very small, cute local restaurant is off the beaten...track but well worth visiting. We almost walked straight passed it so keep your eyes peeled! The waitress spoke excellent English and gave us great quality service. She recommended the pork burrito which was absolutely delicious. She also advised us which of the spicy condiment sauces was the spiciest so to approach with caution! The mango refrescas to drink were also really tasty. We've tried to pick the authentic Mexican restaurants to dine in and this has definitely been the best and we'd highly recommend. It's popular with the locals which is also a great sign don't miss out and make sure you go!
Since we were in Playacar, this was a bit of a walk, but worth it. First--no alcohol here (only downside since we like a cold beer after walking so far on a hot night), no problem-bottled water and coke quenched our thirst. The burritos were...delicious. My husband, on the waitresses' recommendation had 2 other dishes (big appetite). I don't remember what they were, but he loved them. It's a little spot, off the beaten path, but the food was delicious and a great place for lunch. You also enjoy the walk through the very safe back streets.
