I've been here for 13 years and it hasn't changed much since. even the prices did not rise much. this place always makes me feel at home with her eating. the tamales should die! I love watching the matriarchs of the family sitting in their station in the heart of the restaurant. this place opens around 6 and there is always a line of locals. it is a true taste of mexiko with very affordable trips. Doña Mary restaurant is a little place with great food! Everything has chicken, Chicken tostadas are the best!!!!! Chicken soup delicious, home made wth Doña Mary secret recipie. Tlacochos, Panuchos, Empanadas!!! Everything with Chicken! Opens for dinner. And when you finish you can have a...great desert called Marquesitas,,, its a little car that sells crepes,,,,, nutella, Cajeta, dulce de leche...look for it on the street.
This is truly a Mexican soul food restaurant. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and nothing has changed....ever! Its amazing. The tamales, tostadas, panuchos, salbutes, and chicken soup taste like they have blessed with mama’s love. I love to see Dona Mary sitting...in the Center guiding her well oiled machine of a kitchen. You might have to wait for a table but it’s worth it! They open after 6 pm and close when they run out of food (about 10-11) they are also closed on Mondays. If you want a truly authentic meal without paying tourist prices, this is a must!
We ate here on a recomendation from some real local friends. We had chicken soup, Tamales, Tacos, sopapias, cold drinks. For four are bill was around $250 pesos! Fast and good! Very popular with the locals, so you might have to wait for a table....No Alcohol is served.
Great prices. the best prizes I found in playa. menu in English, but not English-speaking waitress recommended.
