Chaka Restaurant - Playa del Carmen

Traditional Mayan cuisine and like everything else in the resort it was first class from beginning to end! The presentation was impressive and the dinning experience a must! Would love to be pampered like this every day!

This traditional Mayan food was a wonderful evening. Anything at this resort begins and ends with outstanding service, and we also felt this meal was one of the best we had all week. The soups were so,ply some of the best we had ever had...in our lives. It really didn’t matter if you tried the cheese or the lime soup, you will be satisfied.

We liked the setting of the restaurant conveniently located in the Zen section of Grand Velas next to the pool. The terrace of the restaurant is overlooking the jungle. The menu has many choices. We ordered different ceviçhe. We liked Peruvian the best. The...octopus was covered in too much spice we thought it was paprika) which was overpowering. The fish taco was fresh and we'll seasoned. I liked that I had a choice of either fried or grilled fish. We preferred buffet breakfast at the Azul because the selection was slightly bigger. Very good service.

Another great visit to Chaka at Grand Velas. Whether there is a buffet or menu the food is always wonderful and the service is excellent.

Mayan food extravaganza, brilliant menu, help the waiting staff guide you through the menus or get sharing plates then you can try everything. My favourite main is chicken cooked underground.
