We wanted a little inexpensive joint in which to have lunch and remembered this little gem from our previous evening's stroll. We sat on the street (and yes, I said street- complete with cars and trucks nearly brushing the back of my husbands chair- as we say, only in Mexico!) and had a delightful waitress. I had the beef fajitas and he had the shrimp burger. His was actually sautéed shrimp on a bun with the best pot... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Caiman Tugurio:
I went to Caiman Tugurio on a Friday night. There was live music and the band kept playing depressing songs from the 90's (not the kind of music you expect in a bar on a Friday night). The service was slow and the waitress didn't seem to care at all about us. Like most places in Playa del Carmen, the drinks are quite expensive. View all feedback.

I had the beef fajitas and he had the shrimp burger. His was actually sautéed shrimp on a bun with the best potato wedges and we were both quite pleased with our selections. He had a couple beers which I believe were less than $2 US and I had a couple of cokes and our bill including a tip was somewhere in the neighborhood of $25. They had some very interesting menu selections with something for everyone, not necessarily all Mexican. We will be back!
We like the place and food was delicious, staff are very kind and smiling all the time , will be back
We fell in love with this place! The food is amazing, fresh and so special. And the prices, in comparison to Playa del Carmen, are really good! We went on a day when there was a live band and we didn't want to leave! The atmosphere is great and the staff is extremely nice and friendly. If you are in Playa - that is a must!

We were looking for a restaurant just away from the main crowds and stumbled across Caiman. We first stopped for couple of beers and to rest but found it so chilled out and the staff friendly we also went back later for lunch. Food was gorgeous and pretty cheap to eat and service great.
