We ate here on a Saturday lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised that a Menu del dia was offered (being weekend . The waiter, one of only two waiting staff, was very friendly, helpful and entertaining! Our meal was a long time arriving but we were happy to wait and people-watch. The waiter was very apologetic for the delay but the kitchen staff were also obviously rushed off their feet. While we waited we were served complimentary tapas (one being a dish of snails which we politely declined! Our ordered meals were superb and cooked with care despite them being so busy. They were very gluten free aware and advised of suitable dishes (most on offer as it happened! Very reasonable price at $15 each. Most definitely recommend!
Visited Plasencia in June 2015 and dined at Albero. Ordered the squid rings and the Suckling Pig (Cochinillo). . Took forever for the meal to come out. Squid was salty, pig was dry and old, tasted rancid. No sides offered, no garnish. The bread (white bred rolls) that were brought out before the mains were stale and hard as rock. The only consumable item of the whole dinner experience was the wine. Regret we dined here! Meals are not even fit for a dog. Absolutely terrible. When we complained, waiter blamed the chef (apparently the owner of the place), agreed with us on the poor quality of meals, but did nothing to remedy the situation. Charged full price. We should have just walked away....
Good treatment and with the best views of the main square, it is also the official seat of the sports club.
They put us in the window looking at the main square, eat well and the waiters very nice.
