Oh man. How to start this review? I’m so torn. I’m from Texas and the last thing I thought I’d find in Florida is good barbecue. Johnson Barbecue is excellent. There’s a reason this place has been in business since the 1950’s. Sides are excellent too. My favorite meat was the ribs. The brisket was good too. And don’t miss out on the collard greens and apple coleslaw. Definitely will be back and so happy I found a pla... View all feedback.
What Kaity E Molina doesn't like about Johnson Barbeque:
I had to post immediately after leaving. Maybe it's a bad day. The bbq is old, dry af, hard to chew. That's not ok. When you go to really good bbq spots, the meat is succulent, juicy, good. The sides I ordered was off as well. It seems like a very novice mistake to not salt the water if you boil potatoes and pasta. Both had no salt. Mac and cheese was gritty. Unacceptable experience. Pros: Friendly service, excellent brisket, baked beans, and side salad that was well worth the small up charge. French salad dressing, which most places do not have nice! Quick tea refills and provided a to go cup for my tea. Atmosphere ok, typical of many bbq joints. Cons: Barbecue sauces not labeled. No mustard barbecue sauce. Drink cup overly worn and chipped. A bit pricey.
Kind of rustic. I had chicken, 2 pieces all dark. The pieces were very small. My husband had wings with fries and okra (fried) Wings were medium size and pretty good. He loved the fried okra.
Food was very good, prices are good for what portions you are getting. Family friendly, fast service and great dinner rolls.
Allie is a great worker don’t fire her and the pork sandwiches are gas ?
Excellent food and service. Hardly no wait time for your food. And large portions. Food was so yummy. Highly recommend this restaurant.
