Red Truck Cafe - Plano

We went on Labor Day so it was a little hectic as they were one of a few places open. The order came out surprisingly quick. Why the servers were stretched thin anyone I reached out to stopped to assist us. We ate breakfast and everything was tasty. I'll definitely return on a less hectic day.Food: 4/5

What a delight! Stopped for lunch and started with the best cup of gumbo I think I've ever had! Mom had the shrimp and scallop special which was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had the patty melt which was delicious but a bit dry. The onion rings were marvelous! Limited but adequate beer/wine menu you can't often find beer and wine at a cafe. I can't wait to come back and try the breakfast menu!

Red truck cafe’s meatloaf Monday special was pretty good. I had received amazing service from my server Tim who helped me with my questions and recommendations.I really liked the flavor of the meatloaf (with brown gravy) and sautéed mushrooms.The jalapeño cornbread was light and moist with a hint of jalapeño flavor.Plus you can never go wrong with a classic mashed potatoes and corn.I heard the chicken fried steak is a must try. Definitely going to give it a try the next time I come back.

I do not write reviews as frequently as I should, but my experience yesterday was so legendarily awesome it deserves to be acknowledged.Had brunch with two friends at The Red Truck Cafe yesterday. Was my second visit and was thoroughly pleased.Was seated and Kim promptly came over and took my beverage order. Kim took exceptional care of our table. One of my friends was non a first name basis with everyone at the restaurant. Our food was flawlessly prepared. Kim seamlessly refilled our beverages without us asking. I met James, the owner, when he stopped by our table to chat with my friend who knew everyone. James is charming, gracious and down to earth; the perfect restaurant owner who personally sees to it that everyone is treated well and that is establishment is running like a well oiled machine.The Red Truck Cafe is as comfortable as your favorite pair of jeans.Thank you everyone at The Red Truck Cafe for taking such good care of us.

Our go-to for a satisfying, good ole' diner meal! The service is always good, but Phillip is exceptional! I almost always get the vegetable plate, which comes with 5 veggies of your choice and side of bread (toast, cornbread, etc). But everything my parents and I have tried is delicious. Always leaving with a big smile, and full belly! Highly recommend!
