Was Michaela Bergstrom at Densetsu a mag?
I have been to this restaurant several times and I absolutely love it. The portions are huge for a sushi restaurant and the soup is really good. I will definitely be back. My favorite part about this place is... View all feedback.
What Joshuah Green dislikes about Densetsu:
I have had much better Japanese food elsewhere. I went to this restaurant to meet with friends, but if I had known the prices and the menu, I would not have come. I ordered the sweet roll, which was a sushi roll with salad, avocado, and a few pickled vegetables, as well as a soft tofu dish with the fish flakes omitted. The roll was underwhelming and dry, likely because it was mostly filled with salad, which did not add much flavor. It was definitely not worth the $7 price tag. I think a veggie pumpkin tempura roll would have been a better choice. The sushi ginger on the side did not seem fresh and was quite dry, possibly from being leftover from a previous meal. The tofu dish came with a dipping sauce and fish flakes on the side, even though I had specified twice that I did not want any fish flakes. I needed a source of protein, and this was one of the few tofu dishes available. I could have bought a block of silken tofu for much less at the supermarket. There were some fish flakes that had made their way to the tofu dish, likely accidentally, which was disappointing. The only positive aspect of the meal was the presentation - everything looked beautiful, even though the taste was lacking. My friend ordered a katsu don, but she only ate half of it because the sauce was too sweet. The restaurant did receive points for their service and atmosphere; the servers were friendly and they bid farewell to each customer in Japanese. However, overall, dining at Densetsu did not live up to our expectations.

As a vegan, I was disappointed to find very few vegetarian options, let alone vegan options on the menu. I ended up ordering a vegetable roll, which was dry and underwhelming, and a soft tofu appetizer dish with fish flakes omitted. The tofu dishes were lacking in flavor and the ginger on the side seemed stale. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, but the taste was lacking. My friend ordered a chicken Katsu Don, but didn't finish it as the sauce was too sweet for her liking. The service and atmosphere at the restaurant were good, but the food did not meet our expectations.

I have had much better Japanese food in the past. I visited this restaurant to meet friends, but if I had known the prices and menu in advance, I would not have come. As a vegan, I found very limited vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, with no tofu options available for protein in dishes like stir fry. I ended up ordering a vegetable roll, which was disappointing and dry, and a soft tofu appetizer with fish flakes, despite my request for them to be omitted. The sushi ginger also seemed dry and not fresh. The tofu dish was simply cut up tofu with green onions and fish flakes on the side, even though I had specified no fish flakes. The presentation of the dishes was nice, but the flavors were lacking. My friend ordered a chicken Katsu Don, but found the sauce too sweet and did not finish it. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant were good, with friendly servers saying thank you in Japanese to customers. Overall, the food at this restaurant did not meet our expectations.
