Food was good. The beer was cold and the service was good. My gf got the fried bologna with baked beans. The beans had brisket in them. They were good as well. I got the loaded nachos with barbacoa which was also good. View all feedback.
What Ethan Hewitt doesn't like about The Grainery:
I wish I could say the wings were even semi good. I came to this restaurant twice from out of town. Each time the wings have been served to me cold. Not just “not warm.” Cold. Once is a mistake, twice is total lack of skill in the restaurant business. I sent them back the first time to be reheated, and the second time I straight up refused them. I did not eat and let my wife finish her nachos. Last time I will be bac... View all feedback.
I originally posted a 1 star review. The owner reached out, and because he sincerely cares about his business. I wanted to re work the review. We sat at the bar. The margarita wasn?t a real margarita it was awful. The beer selection was great and the beer was cold. The food was good particularly the sides. My brisket was almost cold. The bartender was not kind, and that?s ok. It was our first time. It?s a neat place, and we will give it another shot. A one time experience isn?t fair.
The food was awesome, and our server was super friendly. They have two house BBQ sauce, one was sweat and the other was tangy. The sweet went really well with the Brisket.
We were highly disappointed with this experience. It was our first time there and we chose this spot for a date night. The waiter we had did not do a very good job checking on his tables. We sat for about 10-15 minutes before we even received menus or got our drinks order and then didn?t get refills for a long time when we only order water. We ordered pretzel bites and fried pickles for an appetizer which were okay but nothing special. We decided to share the meat sampler with the 4 sides. Waiter brought out our sides and stated the meat was coming right behind it which wasn?t true. We had our sides for 15 minutes before we got the meat sampler. Also the food wasn?t even hot when we received it. Food tasted okay but it was lukewarm and nothing to rave about. I would have been happier staying in our hometown and going to our favorite spot Texas Roadhouse over this place. This is why we hardly try new places but I guess we gave it a go and know not to return here again.
The smoked wings was their saving grace. All the other meats on the sampler was just average at best very dry, little flavor. I'd definitely go back for wings and baked beans though. Chunks of fresh jalapeno in the baked beans was delicious. The wings were so tender and fall off the bone, never had anything like it. Seating in The Silo was folding plastic wedding chairs, looked very uncomfortable. The outdoor patio with stage looked really nice, will have to try it in the summer. The checkout with the pre selected 25% tip is shady.
