Be sure to begin w... read more Täkō is by far my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Beyond the tacos, they offer a wide variety of delicious dishes and excellent cocktails. Be sure to begin with the chips, guacamole, and patatas bravas for starters. While every taco is fantastic, the octopus taco truly stands out. This spot is a true treasure—I highly recommend it!

Unfortunately, the staff frequently left the door open, allowing the wind to blow through, and everyone in the shed was loudly asking to have the door closed. My cousin ordered the Korean tacos, which came with a long black hair. They did remove that dish from our bill, but the service was extremely slow and poor. We arrived at 5:15 and were still waiting for our to-go box and check at 7:15. Overall, it was a very disappointing first experience, especially given how highly recommended this place is.

The al pastor tacos were excellent too, though I wish the avocado salsa stood out more. The tacos are generous in size, so two—which make up one order—are more than enough. The prices on the menu are a bit steep, but overall, my experience at Täkō was very enjoyable.

Before arriving, I called to check if there was a wait, and the person I spoke with was very helpful. Fortunately, there was no crowd, so we were able to get a table right away. The staff greeted us warmly and seated us upstairs. My only issue was that the fans made it a bit chilly after coming in from the rainy weather. I recommend visiting during Happy Hour, as the food and drinks can be pricey; however, the high quality of the dishes justifies the cost. The house-made tortillas were warm and delicious, and the queso, salmon, and guacamole appetizers were both tasty and satisfying. The Pineapple Margarita was refreshing and hit the spot perfectly. All the tacos we tried were fantastic. Overall, it's a great choice for a late-night meal if you're looking for quality food.
