What User doesn't like about Safeway Deli:
The customer service at this restaurant is lacking. It's important to always double-check your receipt, as items are often misplaced leading you to believe you're getting a good deal, only to discover you've been overcharged. Even if you bring up the issue with the staff, they will simply ask for proof of their mistake without any compensation for their error. View all feedback.
I'm not a fan of the Safeway in Pittsburg compared to other locations in my area. The staff seem indifferent towards customer service, and some of the customers aren't very friendly either. It's a place where you quickly grab what you need, pay, and leave. Don't even bother trying to get Starbucks during busy times, as you'll be waiting nearly 20 minutes for your drink. Overall, there are better Safeways out there.
The parking lot at this restaurant is usually very crowded due to the high occupancy of the shopping mall it is located in. The restaurant itself is also quite cramped as it did not have enough space during renovation. Prices are on the higher side due to theft concerns, with items like liquor and formula being locked up. The deli only offers Boar's Head meat, and the store is stocked with prepackaged products. It's important to double check coupons, as some are digital while others require cutting out. Calling ahead for specials on meat is recommended, as the store may run out. The produce is of good quality but pricey, although there is a good selection of pre-cut vegetables for quick meals. Shopping carts can be hard to find, and the store gets very busy before 5:00 p.m. due to delivery orders and a line for the Wells Fargo Bank.
I want to express my gratitude to Heather Espinoza at the bakery for assisting us with our cake order! Although there was a mistake with our order, she went above and beyond to rectify it. Despite being in a stressful situation due to being short-staffed and busy with a long line of customers, she managed to come through for us. Our Dad thoroughly enjoyed his German Chocolate cake and had a wonderful birthday. Thank you so much, Heather! ????
I went to go pick up a birthday cake on Saturday 9/24/22 and the name in the text on the cake was misspelled. I showed a copy of the order form and how it was supposed to be spelled. One of the girls went to correct it and mispelled it again.. On the 3rd try she finally got it right. I remained calm and tried to be pacient despite my frustration, as the cake was supposed to be ready the day before. I should have got the cake for free. This isn't the 1st time that I'vepurchased a cake from this Safeway location and it was wrong.
Restroom was filthy. Mentioned to a female employee who walked by as I was leaving. She didn 't seem to care (I think she said she would tell someone under her breath, but it was more like, 'whatever '.
