**Dining Experience at Lange's: A Mixed Bag**
Lange's diner offers delightful desserts and hearty meals that evoke comforting, homemade flavors. Many patrons rave about the delicious bakery items, particularly the sour cream raisin pie and donuts. However, inconsistencies in service have been noted, with reports of long wait times, especially during busy hours, and a seemingly understaffed team. While some meals, like the hot beef entree and roast beef sandwich, receive praise for their quality, others fell flat given the prices. Overall, while the food may be comfortingly familiar, diners might find a need for patience and a preference for takeout options.

On our way to Pipestone National Monument, we decided to stop for breakfast. When we were seated, we noticed several dirty tables that needed attention, including ours. Once our server arrived to greet us, she informed us that it would take about 30 minutes for our food to arrive, indicating they were short-staffed. We ordered the Denver Omelet and the aptly named Big Fish. As expected, our meals did take the full 30... View all feedback.
What Mariah B dislikes about Lange's Cafe:
The desserts are excellent. However, the overall quality of the food doesn't justify the price. There's nothing extraordinary about the dishes. I recommend just sticking to the desserts. View all feedback.

We ordered the Denver Omelet and the aptly named Big Fish. As expected, our meals did take the full 30 minutes to come out, but at least we were prepared for the wait. Fortunately, our food was quite delicious, and our server, Leslie, did a commendable job, especially considering she was one of only two servers working that day. The prices felt a bit high, but overall, we had a pleasant experience. The next time we're in town, we would definitely choose Lange's again.

We left after waiting for 15 minutes without any assistance. The staff seemed to prioritize serving others who arrived after us, and it was clear that familiar customers received better attention. If you’re passing through, I recommend looking for a different place to eat in Pipestone; there are certainly better options available.
Best omelet and stuffed hashbrowns I've had. What a cool little spot too Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $10–20
The service was terrible, although the food was just alright. The main issue here is definitely the service. Service: Dine-in Meal Type: Breakfast Price Range: $10–20 per person
The restaurant has only one cook, and she’s extremely slow. It took 35 minutes just to get two orders of French toast. I decided to give them another chance, but after watching them mishandle some toast and noticing gnats in the display case with the pies and bread, I started to have doubts. After waiting 40 minutes for the breakfast special of biscuits and gravy (which was supposed to be served that day), we decided to leave.

The restaurant is a restaurant with a small ambience. The staff definitely knows the regulars. The night I went, it seemed like the staff was a bit stressed, but they were still very friendly and accommodating. I want to go back. The food portions were very generous.
The roast beef sandwich served with mashed potatoes was incredibly tender. The restaurant had a cozy, hometown vibe. The service was friendly, and the staff were really nice.
Eating is very good, waiting staff is met or miss. Two visits in a row, I had a new waitress every time and nobody knew anything. They make fantastic bakery products. Best donuts in town!
Have eaten at Lange’s for 20 years. Excellent food. Tastes like food my mom would make from raisin cream pie to yummy caramel rolls. Their meats are high quality and quantity. Eggs are always prepared as ordered. I drive out of my way to be able to eat at Lange’s!
I had the hot beef entree special for lunch, and it was under $10 or $11. It was delicious! I also tried the chili, and I finished my meal with sour cream raisin pie, which was heavenly. It was the perfect way to fuel up before exploring Pipestone NM, which is equally breathtaking.
