Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing as I never even got to try the food. We arrived at Lefay on Monday to celebrate a birthday, and the reception knew we were leaving Thursday morning. They mentioned the hotel has two restaurants but failed to tell us that one of them, Grual, is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On Monday evening, we went to Grual to book a table for Wednesday. The hostess told us reservations must be made through the main reception and mentioned the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays but did not say it’s also closed on Tuesdays, even after we said we would come “tomorrow instead.” So we ended up at a resort with only two restaurants: one awful, and the other closed without anyone informing us in advance

Beautifully decorated, and delicious food. We had the tasting menu and every course was creative and delicious. Although for my critique, the staff needs more knowledge and proper training of etiquette.

The food was average (when compared to a Michelin star restaurant), had to wait for more than 3 hours to complete the 12 course set menu, which is extremely long.

The meal was fine. We had a vegetarian fish tasting and wine tasting. We didn't like one of the wine tastings and there was barely any acknowledgement from the staff and sommelier that we hadn't finished the wine we didn't like until we brought it to the attention of the staff. The first part of the meal went very quickly, with the middle part simply waiting over 50 minutes for a small fish dish that arrived cold and not cooked to the point that we ate it because we were hungry, and even by the time we brought it to the attention of the staff it felt like Ilan didn't matter that much to anyone. Overall we were disappointed and not worth the price

We had dinner at Grual and it was truly one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. The 12-course tasting menu was a seamless journey through the flavors of the Dolomites — creative, deeply rooted in nature, and executed with precision and soul. Each dish offered something unexpected. From the birch-scented amuse-bouche to the beetroot tartare with fermented berries, and the trout delicately smoked in larch bark, every course was thoughtful, beautiful, and full of flavor. The pacing was perfect, and there was a clear narrative that tied everything together — you could tell the kitchen wasn’t just serving food, they were telling a story. The wine pairings were equally impressive, thanks to Giulia, the sommelier. Her selections elevated each dish and introduced us to several surprising and unique bottles, especially from local producers. Her knowledge and enthusiasm made each glass feel special. A huge part of what made the evening unforgettable was the service. Anna, our waitress, was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. She made us feel welcome from the first moment and guided us through the menu with just the right balance of charm and precision. Grual is more than a restaurant — it’s a window into the land, the seasons, and the people who live here. We left feeling inspired, grateful, and already talking about when we’ll be back. PS: I couldn't take pictures of all the dishes since the wine took effect but please appreciate the finess of each dish I was able to picture here.
