We live in this village. Eduardo is someone we know so I have to be careful about what I say because I want to be able to go back in there in the future. I may have been a bit generous in the score. The restaurant has seen better days, the chairs wobble and the restaurant itself is cavernous and looks as though parts of it have been abandoned. Usually there is a big log fire smouldering away in the open fireplace and, if it gets cold, the almond shell burning stove is fired up. Lots of the local villagers go in for (the late) breakfast and the breakfasts are good toast, tortilla, local sasages, chicken and often something else in season or something that has been made especially in the kitchen that morning torrijas maybe. It's a restaurant where people meet for breakfast. Lunch is an experience. It goes something like this. Hello Hello, what can I get you? What do you have? We've got a bit of this, a bit of that (the exact this and that vary but they seldom sound substantial) Do you have such and such? (this is something you fancy or something you see on another table but which hasn't been mentioned to you) Yes, we've gor rice and rabbit (or gazpacho or mussels or grilled meat) It goes on like this for a while but, eventually, little by little it's revealed to you what is on offer today. The food is usually good and a couple of times we have had spectacularly good rice (paella) or gazpacho (the rabbit stew) The meat is never poor and the cook does a very creditable job. It's not a place to go if you are a fussy eater or if you are vegetarian. It's not a place to go if you want posh. It is a place to go if you fancy some decent food at a reasonable price in an interesting environment

I give it 5 stars because it is an endearing place, one of those traditional village places, with typical and tasty flavors. It is not a place for gastronomy or refinements, they are forceful dishes and good portions. The treatment is very friendly and honest. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
