Pancakes At The Stables

I absolutely loved the pancakes and the friendliness of the staff here. They are welcoming and very helpful. The car guards will watch or just wash your car and because there's no atm in pilgrims rest you can ask the restaurant for some cash to be added to your bill to pay them!!! The food was yummy and the portion sizes reasonable for the pricing. It is also a very safe town. Get your museum passes at the information center and then travel around Pilgrims rest to look at each museum. Absolutely a picturesque town. Some parts are still being cleaned up and rebuilt by the community but still a stop worth making!!

This is a very charming café, very historic, first opened in 1895 and it looks exactly the way it used to, over a century ago. beautifully decorated inside with all the historic charm of Pilgrim's Rest and some Mpumalanga artifacts. The coffee is out of the this world in my opinion, pancakes are just as good. The service excellent as good as a proud South African rural hospitality. This whole town deserve more than they get credit for.

Such a quaint little place in Pilgrims Rest. We enjoyed a delicious coffee and a milk-tart custard pancake. Service was great and the ambiance was perfect.

Beautiful little place. Pancakes were amazing,light and fluffy. Everything has an added magical touch and a hint of love. Well worth it to drive there.

If you want a pancake, this is the place to visit. They have a great variety with something to suit everyone, from plain cinnamon, chocolate mousse, pavlova, savory mince, to exotic springbok. The coffee is great, the milkshakes beautiful and the hot chocolate delicious
