Wonderfully relaxed and excellent value for money. We shared a plankie which was rump steak, lamb chops, a few pork belly riblets and boerewors with veges, potato bake and braai broodjies. Wow! Every mouthful was excellent and we polished off the whole lot. It took a while to prepare but the waitress kept checking on us while we enjoyed a bottle of wine. What Mandi van Z doesn't like about The Genesis:
We ordered take aways and were very disappointed at the portion sizes compared to what you get when you eat there. We contacted the manager on duty who was very helpful but this was not the first time. Compared to our first visit after opening and now, the portions have significantly changed. However, this is just one review and others may have a completely different perspective. View all feedback.
The service is good, the food's good and you definitely get your money's worth. The French onion soup is excellent and the Reuben is solid. Plus they have hand cut fries, which I love. Highly recommend!
After ordering with a wait near 30 minutes a few in our group was told a change was needed. Nor sure why the delay, however, those affected were offerred a free alcoholic drink for the inconvenience. The food was good and compitive priced.
The mistletoe martini was delicious! Our waitress was new but still did a pretty good job. Our food was pretty good. My salmon and mashed potatoes had too much salt. Salads were good,though. We had an overall decent experience.
We celebrated my husband's birthday with my mother-in-law tonight. Although it was quite busy, our drinks and food were served in a timely manner. Our waitress was clearly juggling a lot but she remained very attentive. My mother-in-law and I both had the prime rib, which was amazing! My husband also really enjoyed his steak. We love the Green Diamond and will definitely return soon!
The food was excellent, and the menu had a wide variety of appealing options. The servers provided outstanding service.
