Bright and cheerful th... read more This is a family run trattoria serving traditional meals with family sourced meats (Beef, Rabbit, Chicken) from the farm or countryside.. Bright and cheerful the trattoria serves antepasta followed by delicious Paste (Funghi, Speck or Ragu) and then a second plate selection of Beef steak,...Chicken or Rabbit dishes with local vegetables and wines. My favourite was the beef steak with potato rosti and spinach but you need a big stomach to do justice to all three courses and then face traditional cakes for dessert. I enjoyed many stunning sunsets with my partner sitting by the roadside enjoying he view sharing a half litre vin bianco before moving inside. This is not sophisticated high society eating it is so very much better an opportunity to savour traditional meals of quality food in a family atmosphere. If you come here, join in and enjoy but please please don't change it

Vinino Santo. (holy wine) served with a type of Madeira cake immersed in the wine, a local tradition. that was also a reasonable price. the location is on the cagli road that leaves piertalunga. you take the sign for castle franco about five miles from pietralunga. the journey worth it. the restaurant is a new building in traditional wise. the surrounding landscape is undeveloped, but what is lacking in vista is more than sufficient due to the gourmet experience of traditional foods and beautiful service.
