Good selection of food. The grill is part of the main restaurant area, and the staff are really efficient in dealing wi all the orders. Good overall selection of food, on both the A la carte, plus several fixed price menus as well. Although the menus are in French they do have an English translation menu to give you to read in tandem with the main menu, if you do have a problem translating. We were a group of 10 on o... What wpjordan2018 doesn't like about Courte Paille:
We wanted a quick meal after a day of sightseeing. Say down at 5:00 and didn't see waiter for 15 minutes despite being only ones in restaurant. Food was fine but nothing special. After getting food waited 40 min to see a new waiter. Apparently the original one left and only one person trying to serve about 8 tables. View all feedback.
The flat thigh duck is correct, the soft, good but small chocolate, no ice cream without whisk just a little creamy dc to improve, the correct reception, I had u.e banquette dc it's better.
The waiter didn't speak anything but french, threw service on the table, forgot 3 orders and ignored us most of the time. The food was burned an raw and i had a bad stomach afterwards... Go somewhere else its not even cheap ....
We were a group of 10 and this eatery seemed to be able to accommodate us the food was pretty good starters fine mains all pretty average, when we asked for coffee they said sorry no cream ok we said milk no was the answer I cannot believe that a restaurant does not have cream or milk, oh well we live and learn

Le Courte Paille translates as the short straw we should have known by the name not to stop but in doing so we did indeed draw the short straw. We were seated quite quickly but waited an age for firstly the menus and then for our order to be taken. We ordered main courses and had to ordered dessert at the same time!. We waited some time and then had the bizarre experience of being given a welcome salad which consisted of some dressing in the bottom of a bowl with bitter lettuce dumped on top? the first time we have experienced this. The mains arrived, I had chosen Confit de Canard with peppercorn sauce and Jacket potato, on the plate was a dessicated potato which looked as if it was a WW1 leftover!! and an OK(ish) duck leg. The sauce was obviously from a packet as was the sour cream and chive for the jacket. Oh it was also served on a cold plate. My wife 's meal was an experience equal to mine. The desserts were also from the cash and carry and had nothing to recommend them either. It cost me €42 for this and a bottle of Perrier
