We all described the meal as a good home cooked meal. There is plenty of food and it is of decent quality. There is a basic salad bar, a few main course options, and a selection of desserts. You can have as much food as you like. So leaving hungry is your own fault. The ambiance of the dining area is nice and feels homey. After the meal there is live music. What Luce Martel doesn't like about Herongate Barn Theatre:
I've read the reviews that refer to the food here as "home cooked." Well, if you like everything over done, I guess this would be for you. I found the roast beef to be over cooked. More like the fare at home than on a typical restaurant menu. Good value for money. The layout in the restaurant area is awkward, not flowing, and there are some tight walking spaces, long line for main course, but that's all part of the atmosphere. All staff is extremely courteous and friendly. Fully enjoyable. Afterward, a play up in the theatre. Also good but not part of this review. We've been 3 times, and will go many more.
I went on another bus trip to Herongate for a Sunday afternoon outingThe food at the restaurant was as good as I'd remembered. The play Sinners was also good but I actually preferred the other presentation, little scenes
