Smashburger - Phoenix

Oh my, reading so much dismay over the size of things here. Unpopular opinion: this is a perfectly sized meal of its kind! I'd like to continue by admitting that I hate burgers lol. I have this lust for seasoned meat (and not the taste of meat! , and burgers are just never satiating enough for me. And neither is BBQ. But I'm always trying them out bc they are so loved and just want to genuinely justify the hype. My last burger was a few months ago at Bar Louie and instances like that remind me why I hardly do them... First time there, after work and a pretty safe time to visit in terms of avoiding crowds in comparison to In n Out across the way. I know In n Out to be a solid option but I was feeling bacon this time. So many irregularities! Service was immediately welcoming. Cashier helped me decide on the bbq bacon cheddar and smash fries. The burger bun truly was gorgeous! First bite into the burger was near euphoric lolol. Must have been the haystack onions-bacon-bbq combo. Then I tasted the meat patty on it's own as the moment of truth and it sealed a great first impression! Fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, basically perfect. Will certainly be returning to try other menu items ? If you're worried about it being greasy then I would recommend a salad at home, which can also be made to be absolutely delicious!

Smash fries were a little soft. Burgers are always of good quality.

I have always been a bit conflicted about Smashburger. The burgers and the fries are always outstanding (hence the 4 stars) but the atmosphere and service are cold. Not unwelcoming or unprofessional but very detached and corporate. So I enjoy the burgers but the experience is lacking.

Good place to eat for lunch. They have a great variety of food from beef burgers, black bean, chicken sandwiches, to 3 different kinds of salads. Good bang for buck.

John was extremely helpful and provided great professional recommendations for vegitarian options here for me which was wonderful. The goat cheese salad was amazing , paired with a basaltic vinaigrette. The smash fries are amazing as well! I highly recommend this for groups, families, or just yourself, staff was very nice and friendly.
