What Vigilijs Varslavāns dislikes about La Santisima:

I ordered some gourmet salsas to take home, but unfortunately, a few of them were unavailable. I opted for the five chili salsa, which ended up being a chunky mix of chilies and onions. I had expected it to be smoother, so I was surprised to find it was the thickest salsa I've ever encountered. I decided to blend it myself, which definitely enhanced the flavor. The tacos were delicious, but they forgot to include my... View all feedback.

This place is a local favorite, even attracting visiting celebrities. I finally got to try them out recently, and on Taco Tuesday, no less! I love that they allow you to mix and match different tacos to create your own taco plate. I ordered the following 3 tacos: Tlaloc (grilled cactus, caramelized onion, garlic, jalapeños; I omitted the additional options for this taco -tomato, mushrooms, and queso fresco) Guisado Tenoch (Grilled Cactus, Potato, Guajillo red salsa; I omitted the mushrooms and queso fresco) Mexica Ahuacatl (Beer Battered Avocado, cabbage, salsa jicama; I omitted the pico de gallo and the salsa cilantro, the latter of which contains dairy) The Guisado Tenoch Mexica Ahuacatl were by far my favorites. The Guisado is terrifically tantalizing to the tastebuds and needed no extra salsas. The Ahuacatl was equally delicious once I added some Strawberry Salsa. (It's delicious alone, just a little dry w/o the salsa I wasn't a fan of the flavors in the Tlaloc, which were too tart and robust to my liking. Just a personal preference. I ordered my plate with rice and black beans, and I mixed them together. The flavor of the beans was delightful; they were seasoned perfectly, and not too salty. (It's my understanding that the refried beans contain dairy, so vegans should stick to the black beans Another shining star here is the unlimited salsa bar, which features about a dozen different salsas. The salsa ingredients are not listed, but after spotting a particularly milky looking one, I inquired and discovered that there are a few salsas which do contain dairy, including the pecan salsa and cilantro salsa. I have since been informed that the following salsas are all vegan: salsa 7 chiles, árbol, cabo, chipotle, sesame, peanut, strawberry, pico de gallo, jicama, cruda, tomatillo, rábano, and the Mexicana. The guacamole is also confirmed as vegan. The strawberry salsa became an unexpected favorite, winning me over with its refreshingly sweet and spicy flavors. The service was great and I absolutely adore the wall art. The only thing I do not like is that the bathroom is in the dining area and several people kept leaving the door open… The salsa bar is right outside that door. As an OCD germaphobe, I was terribly bothered by this. Aside from that, I love this taqueria and cannot wait to return and try the rest of their vegan menu.

Absolutely one of my favorite places to eat in Phoenix Arizona so far. This is exactly what I grew up whenever I tell my friends what Mexican or Latin American food should be or taste like, fine Mexican cuisine. The food doesn't taste greasy at all. The food presentation is top notch. The tates of the food is by far one that you don't want to miss. The price it's a little high, but expected for the quality of food and atmosphere.

Very flavorful dinner. One of the best moles I?ve tasted! Jesus, our server was super helpful in carefully explaining the different menu items. ? Thank you for recommending the mole on shrimp taco. It did not disappoint.

Some gourmet salsas were not available when I ordered Togo. I ordered the five chilie salsa and it was cut up chillies and onion. I thought it would've been blended but it was definitely the thickest salsa I've ever had. I ended up blending the mixture my self and it was better. The tacos were good but they forgot my rice and beans.

Incredible salsa bar!!! They have 10+ delicious salsas that you can try- fair warning, you have to be careful not to fill up on chips before your food arrives! The taco and entree menu is super extensive as well with some unique dishes. Margaritas are tasty. My family always insists on going here when they’re in town! It can be super busy though so be prepared to wait for a table

This was an epic meal. Starting with the horchata that was unlike any I had ever tried in my life and so, so, good. Walking in, I loved the swings at the bar instead of your traditional stools, and I would have loved to have sat there, it's so inviting and whimsical. My group ordered a raft of tacos, none duplicated, and everyone was incredibly impressed with the food. I had the Gaucho, Oaxacan black molè chicken, and cochinita pibil, and they were amazing. It was just the right amount of food. Try the pink molé

Also can’t believe this place hasn’t got more ratings. Amazing fresh salsa bar where you can help yourself, accompanied by free chips. Whole vegan menu section, some just need to be asked for without cheese. I tried a burrito one time and tacos another, both great. Make sure you get their guacamole it’s so so good, also definitely get one of their margaritas!!!

I’ve been coming here since they first opened in 2010, and during that time they’ve changed names and I’ve quit eating animal products. They still stand up as probably the best place to grab tacos in Phoenix. The tacos are so well seasoned and the salsa bar is delicioso. Highly recommended!

This restaurant features a wide range of tasty vegan taco choices. However, be aware that the horchata is not vegan. The menu can be somewhat unclear, as some items labeled as vegan may still include cheese, so you'll need to ask for them without cheese if you want to keep it vegan.

This restaurant in Phoenix, Arizona, has quickly become one of my top picks. It beautifully embodies the Mexican and Latin American flavors I grew up with. The dishes are not greasy, and the presentation is outstanding. The flavors are memorable and absolutely worth tasting. While the prices are somewhat elevated, they reflect the high quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere of the restaurant.

The dinner was absolutely delicious, featuring one of the best mole sauces I've ever tasted! Our server, Jesus, was incredibly helpful in explaining the menu options. I really appreciate his suggestion of the shrimp taco with mole; it was fantastic and surpassed my expectations.

Overall, it was pretty good. You can definitely tell that everything was fresh and made to order. However, it’s not something that will blow you away or make you want to rave to all your friends. The price for the tacos is far from reasonable, no matter how much effort goes into making them. The horchata was really tasty but not enough to save the meal.

I was visiting Phoenix, and a friend brought me to La Santisima, his favorite spot—and now I understand why! I really enjoyed the salsa bar where you can sample a variety of salsas, and the option to mix and match different tacos was fantastic. Everything was excellent, but my favorite was the La Santisima Steak—it was exquisite! I can’t wait to come back to Phoenix and dine here again.

If someone shows me a great photo, I'm probably going to try the food. La Santisima posted a photo for their items for Vegetarian Week. This was a special of 3 veggie tacos with a side of rice and black beans for $15 plus tax. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with artwork. They have an extensive salsa bar. They even have a pine nut salsa. I tried the Mayan Cochinita Vegan, Aztec Tinga Vegan, and the Santisima Veggie tacos. Each of the tacos were tasty and had layered flavors. I really liked the Santisima Veggie taco. It was probably my favorite. I did not try the vegan cheese. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Showed up today 9/27 and the door was boarded up and no one answers when you call. Not sure if they are out of business but they should’ve updated their Google account so people don’t drive all the way here for nothing.
