Reviews - Cibo

#13 - Cafés - Phoenix, Pizzeria, Beer

Reviews summary

Nestled in the heart of Phoenix, CIBO boasts a vibrant atmosphere complemented by outdoor seating, live music, and refreshing water misters. Diners regularly praise the crust and various exceptional dishes, including their gnocchi and burrata. However, experiences can vary; some find the vegetarian options lacking in flavor and service occasionally rushed. While the ambiance is inviting, a few guests noted issues like problematic cleanliness and inconsistent food quality. Despite these flaws, CIBO remains a popular choice for pizza lovers, making it a noteworthy stop for anyone exploring the local dining scene.

The staff was so kind and the food was delicious. We celebrated my brother in laws birthday here and they have a complimentary crepe which was so yummy (according to him). Overall, amazing ambiance and loved eating here!!! Would come again. Also thechicken pesto salad was to die for. So so yummy!

The reviews don’t match the quality of their food. Nice atmosphere but the place was super warm inside. There were lots of house flys on the window and around the dining area that made dining in uncomfortable. The food was cool. It is very muchcomparable to bar food. The food was also not flavorful as described by its customers. The bread was rock hard. The staffhandled our drinking glasses from the rim rather than the sides of the cup. The staff was not friendly at all. We felt rushedand we’re not given proper table service. We had to ask for napkins and small table items. My visit was very unpleasantoverall. This place sure went downhill from five years ago.

Finally came in to try this place and was not disappointed. Started off with a caprese salad that was just delicious. Wife and I had are own pizza each which is definitely doable, they're just the right size for most people to eat one on their own. Thecrust was great and just the right chew to it and flavor. Staff was super friendly and very attentive. Great seating indoors andnice outdoors for when the Temps are lower but there is a fair amount of shade from the trees, plus the misters. Definitely areturn spot for pizza.

Awesome cozy spot in the historical downtown neighborhood w outstanding pizza. The toast and meatballs for an appetizer was really good. The bread is made in-house and it was toasted enough to be crispy but still slightly soft to eat w the meatballs. For pizza I got half tartufata and half procida. They went together extremely well but still stand up strong separately. Ihaven't had pizza that tasted like this before and I appreciated that it was unique. The flavors were well balanced that saucesand additional toppings are not necessary. This is a place I'd take my friends who haven't tried it.

The reviews don't reflect the quality of the food at this restaurant. While the atmosphere is nice, it was uncomfortably warm inside. There were numerous house flies by the windows and around the dining area, which made our experience less pleasant. The food was average, more akin to bar food, and it didn't have the flavor that other customers had suggested. The bread was hard as a rock. Additionally, the staff handled our drinking glasses by the rim instead of the sides, which was off-putting. The service was not friendly at all; we felt rushed and didn't receive proper table service. We had to ask for napkins and other small items ourselves. Overall, my visit was quite disappointing. This place has definitely declined since my last visit five years ago.

The restaurant features three cozy and intimate dining areas that used to be individual rooms, complete with polished hardwood floors and what appear to be the original brick walls. A comforting fireplace adds to the inviting atmosphere. The menu is reasonably priced, and the quality of the food certainly provides great value for your money and time. The owners prioritize fresh, locally-sourced organic produce whenever possible, and the menu includes several delicious salads, all praised by my friends and me. However, we were primarily there for the pizza, and it did not disappoint! Just a heads-up: the salad and pizza portions are large, so consider bringing friends along to fully enjoy the meal. Cibo doesn’t serve thick-crust, bread-heavy pizza; instead, their offerings feature thin, crispy crusts that maintain just a hint of doughiness in the best way possible. My personal favorite was the Quattro Formaggi, a white pizza with four cheeses: Fontina, Parmesan, Pecorino, and Mozzarella. They achieve the perfect balance, with the cheese melted and lightly browned, creating a wonderful flavor and texture—definitely no need for sauce here. My companion, however, loved the Margherita, especially for its flavorful sauce. Its simplicity—just cheese, sauce, and basil—makes it just as delightful as the more complex pizzas. We did see desserts on the menu but were unfortunately too full to indulge this time. Nevertheless, I suspect they are worth saving room for, as the overall quality of the meal was outstanding—even from the pizza! Enjoy your meal! Buon Appetito!

What a lovely spot! The atmosphere and food were both fantastic! Our server was friendly, but we did end up getting our pizza before the salad we wanted to share as a starter. Also, the outdoor chairs could use some improvement—they're not very comfortable, especially for those of us who aren't petite. It would be great if you could update the chairs to accommodate average-sized people!

Amazing!!! The atmosphere is so fun and inviting. The food is insanely delicious, a must in Phoenix. The Ostia salad was good, probably will try something different next time but still really awesome. The burratta was amazing and so fresh to start and definitely enough to share with 4 people. The gnocchetti so formaggi was the best gnocchi I’ve had in the US. It’s INSANE. Top 3 best dishes I’ve had in years. The tartufata pizza was good, my only complaint was the pizza was a little soggy but the flavors were still great. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved this place! First time visiting Phoenix and wanted a nice dinner. Sat outdoors, the ambience is pleasant with all the plants and coolers. They have two kinds of pizza one with red sauce and another with white. We ordered one of each and both were delicious. The wine suggestions were spot on. Desert was good but not wow!

Delicious Italian style pizza! Located down town it is a great date night spot with a beautiful lit patio and cute indoor options as well!

We had lunch at this restaurant with a group of eight, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The portions are quite large, so I suggest sharing dishes or taking leftovers home. I ordered the caprese sandwich, which came with a side of fruit topped with yogurt and granola—delicious! The salads were enormous, and the pizza was quite tasty, although I wish they offered a veggie pizza. We sat outside in a charming patio, which added to the experience. I would definitely recommend this place!

The food and atmosphere were fantastic. We opted to sit outside, which was charming. We've dined here several times, and the waitstaff has always been exceptional. However, during this visit, our waitress appeared somewhat uninterested in her job. While she was somewhat attentive, it was a letdown compared to our previous experiences.

I brought some first-time visitors to Cibo tonight, and everything was fantastic as always. Our table was ready ahead of time, the service was excellent, and the pizza was delicious.

My boyfriend and I went here for my birthday dinner, I honestly am second guessing if we should have went elsewhere to share this special dinner together. The moment we were sat down our waitress made everything seemed very rushed like we were an inconvenience to her and she was just waiting to get out of there even though it was still an hour til closing and plenty of other people were there.. which ruined out experience by far. The food was really good nonetheless just wish the service could have made up for the overall experience because it definitely played a part in our entire dinner and made my birthday dinner not feel as special, my boyfriend even tried to mention to her that it was my birthday to see if there was anything special she could do for the occasion but she kinda just ignored him. Maybe we will give it another try on a not so special occasion because the food we did order was good and came out in a timely manner.

My wife and I did this for appointments when we visit Phoenix. The food service is great. Your terrace is charming, has many seats, has a very romantic ambience, and we love the live music. We told many people to visit when they're in town. Try the pizza with wood fires. And don't pass on the truffles!

Excellent atmosphere on the terrace. One of the best gluten-free pizza crusts I had. The caprese salad was delicious. The waiting staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back.

This restaurant is a great option for dinner, especially on a late spring evening when the city is starting to cool down. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy some really good pizza in the city center. However, I just don’t feel like dining here. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the food or the service; it simply doesn’t resonate with me for some reason. It feels a bit hectic to fully appreciate the atmosphere, especially around noon. While it’s not as crowded as Pizzeria Bianco, I have to admit, the pizza doesn’t quite measure up either.
