The food is consistently fantastic! I always choose this place for birthday dinners because I know it will be a great experience.
Delicious ribs and pulled pork! The side dishes were impressive as well, especially the pecan coleslaw.
The cornbread arrived first, fresh and delicious. They also had a great selection of beers on tap to complement our barbecue meal. To our surprise, before we even finished our buttery cornbread, our entrees were served. The waiter offered additional barbecue sauce, to which I eagerly accepted. They offered regular, spicy, and a chipotle dip specifically for the brisket. The chipotle dip arrived warm in a serving dish, while the regular and spicy sauces came in small metal carafes. I poured a bit of each on the side, and wow—what a flavor! It was all delicious and warm, just like we love it in competition-style barbecue. Finally, I found a restaurant that truly understands barbecue! The brisket and baby back ribs were exceptional and could compete with my best efforts at barbecuing. A special thank you to Laura Hogan, the manager and a gracious host, who also encouraged us to try their roasted corn and suggested we indulge in the complimentary freshly made mini cinnamon donuts in a "Thank You" brown bag as we left. What a delightful experience! We will definitely be returning. Thank you, Danny and Melissa Cox from Cayucos, California.
MY WIFE AND I MAKE COMPETITION BAR B QUE. SMOKED PRIME BRISKET, BURNT ENDS, RIBS, CHICKEN, WINGS, TURKEY AND SAUSAGE. I've been able to kill my daughter, and he said they did. I beat the BRISKET with RANCH STYLE BEANS and PECAN COLE SLAW. You have replaced the BABY BACK RIBs with RANCH STYLE BEANS and PECAN COLE SLAW. KORNBREAD KAME FIRST HOT AND DELICIOUS. It's like I'm saying you're coming with your friend. In order to fulfill my preference, we have our FINISH OUR CORNBREAD OUR FOOD RESULTS. The WAITER has enabled us to see what it looks like a prosecutor BAR B QUE SAUCE, and I have said what you have. You have REGULAR, SPICY and CHIPOTLE DIP for the BRISKET. The police have settled in a SERVING DISH and the REGULAR and SPICY BAR B QUE SAUCE CAME in SMALL METAL CARAFE 'S. I POURED A LITTLE of EACH SAUCE ON THE SIDE. WOW, IT WAS DELICIOUS AND WARM (COMPETITION STYLE). A real man who made it. Oh, and the BRISKET and BABY BACK RIBS, you have the best ATTEMPs in the COMPETITION BAR B QUE. I thank you for being able to meet your colleagues and your friends who have taken their way with my excellent CORN, and that we were able to do the terrible complimation mini-CINNAMON in the DANK Q BROWN BAG where we settled. What a PLEASANT experience. We'll come back. Thanks. DANNY AND MELISSA COX CAYUCOS, CALIFORNIA
Overall we were happy. Took a group of 5 for a birthday dinner. I thought it was a tad pricey for BBQ....I mean we're not talking haute cuisine but....it was the best tasting BBQ I've had in the valley! Calamari appetizer was awesome...never had it in the manner served. St Louis Ribs were falling off the bones tender and full of flavor... brisket was likewise tender and full of flavor...a tad dry but easily remedied with some more sauce. The only other challenge was the decibel level. It was so loud we could really only converse with whomever sat directly beside you....but that's the trade-off for a busy place that's busy for a reason.
