Feedback
The fries were a highlight—crispy and hot—thankfully, as they were the only reason I’m not starving. The 5-piece tenders were more like 5 pieces of chewiness; while they had a slightly crunchy exterior, the inside was tough to chew. The Cheesy Garlic Bread looked fantastic in pictures but turned out to be stale, lifeless, and nearly flavorless, with a texture reminiscent of cardboard, punctuated by nearly tasteless raw garlic chunks. The house-made mozzarella sticks had a tempting appearance, but the cheese lacked flavor and stretch, probably needed some salt, and I couldn’t dip them in the ranch because it was gross. The marinara sauce was decent, more or less what you would expect from a pizza shop, reminding me of Domino's. I hate to give a negative review, but considering the high prices Fly Bye charges for small to medium portions, the food should be consistently top-notch. Unfortunately, today’s order was far from satisfactory, and I ended up throwing away more than half of it. I’ve tried their pizza a couple of times, and the Detroit-style crust was unpleasantly crusty, leaving the roof of my mouth sore while being overwhelmed with grease and underwhelmed by flavor. I suggest ordering from Raising Canes for chicken instead, and for pizza, stick with Pats Pizza, Stumpys, Venezias, or Spinatos. As for the mozzarella sticks, don’t waste your time with these. This will be my last order from here.
The pizza is fantastic—I'd rate it an 8.5 out of 10. It might be the best Detroit-style pizza in the Phoenix area. The crust could have been a bit crispier, but that might be due to the delivery, which caused it to cool down a bit. Unfortunately, the wings were disappointing. Some still had bits of feathers or hair on them, and they weren't tossed in sauce. The Nashville Hot sauce was just okay, as was the hot honey. The buttermilk ranch dressing was decent.
