Absolutely fantastic Hondurian and Mexican food. We live in the neighborhood and LOVE Tamalex, getting take out there once a week. Favs are the Tamalex special (chicken enchiladas verde with grilled thin steak, rice, beans and avacado), all the tostadas, fried plantains, well... everything. You really xant go wrong. Real food, real cooking, and GREAT prices. View all feedback.
What jose miguel g doesn't like about Tamalex:
I tried Pupusas here and they were big, but simply I felt no taste. The restaurant offers Honduran, Mexican and Salvadorean food. Some prices are in my opinion high. The restaurant is really nice and clean though. View all feedback.
If you want authentic Mexican/Honduran food, this is the place. I have tried their burritos, tacos, enchilada and casadeas all pretty dam good. And there is a lot more on that menu. It is also family-friendly. I see many people bringing the whole family in. Sunday is really crowded. If your new to the area, this is one place to check out. It's on the way towards South Street Center City. The drinks really interesting. They have the usual Mexican sodas, but the real treat is the freshly made pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe juice. A must try.
Amazing food for unbeatable price. I used to drive 40 minutes to come visit here quite frequently. It?s that good!
I love this place. They changed the green salsa not too long ago I do miss the old one : But everything's great, always reliable open late. Dining in is nice- casual and quick service!
The pupusas were EXCELLENT! Delicious tortillas, love the horchata served in a very large container
Love this family owned restaurant! Fast service and delicious food! The portions are big and a wonderful price point. Highly recommend.
