Sugar Philly Manayunk - Philadelphia

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelette and my partner ordered the spicy vegan chorizo breakfast. Both dishes came with a side of home fries. Unfortunately, I could barely eat the omelette as the steak was overcooked and chewy. However, I did enjoy the vegan dish for a brief moment before something didn't sit right with my stomach. I really hope the restaurant can address whatever issues are bringing them down as it's a great location.

The service at this restaurant is terrible and they do not pay their employees. The owner is unreliable. It is deceitful to issue a bounced check in the restaurant business. The Department of Labor & Industries will likely have numerous violations to address.

The drink selection is inconsistent, and they often top the food with cold vegetables. The silverware was not clean. While the food is not terrible, it is poorly prepared.

Unless you have time to waste, don't do it to yourself. We were seated immediately but the service took forever. The waiter was extremely nice but it didn't excuse the long wait. I had my 7yr old daughter with me. She was extremely hungry waiting for the food to show up. During this time I decided to read the reviews (which I should've done beforehand). Seeing that the workers weren't being paid really bothered me but now I understood why things were happening the way they were. An interesting experience to say the least.

This is hands down my favorite place for breakfast in Manayunk. The chicken and waffles is so full of flavor that you never want to get full. The Eggs Bernie is absolutely fantastic. The brunch cocktails are to die for. Can't recommend enough.
