Southhouse - Philadelphia

Menu has been reduced to sandwiches and salads but portions are large and good value.

In town just for one night. Found SouthHouse on the “findmeglutenfree” app because I have Celiac Disease and absolutely cannot have gluten. This place had entire menu including appetizers available! I was also assured food safety by reviews there. And it lived up to that!! We had the cauliflower app. and excellent sandwiches we had both flown into Philly this was our MeetUp. Awesome food since he is also mostly Paleo for food. Ambiance is the type of corner bar but I wasn’t there for that.

We were there for a fundraiser for my daughter’s school. They didn’t acknowledge my reservation so I didn’t get credit on open table nor did I get any points. The server was very attentive and the food was okay.

I would like to express my gratitude to the entire team at South House who worked the day shift on Sunday, August 11th. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I had a fantastic time at my 40th birthday party. They were accommodating when additional family members arrived and honored my sister's request over the phone. They took our orders both at the bar and at the table, and the food was excellent. I was thoroughly impressed with the entire operation and as the reason for the party, I want to extend my thanks to the entire day shift staff at South House on August 11th.

The bartender was extremely friendly. The restaurant offers a fantastic happy hour with a wide variety of options. I was thrilled to try a chicken cheesesteak on a gluten-free roll, and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious.
