Best Italian Restaurant NOT in Italy. For those whose experiences were not great, I feel sorry for them, because this has been a consistently outstanding Italian restaurant. It is the best restaurant we've eaten in outside of Italy really. The food is inventive and always delicious, so much so that we can recall the flavors of just about everything we've ever had there. The service is outstanding and the bread is rem... View all feedback.
What G C doesn't like about Modo Mio Taverna:
Came here for a birthday dinner. Establishment is cute inside and family oriented. Can come here to eat or drink at the small bar. The 5 of us ordered the menu turista which was $40/per person for one appetizer, one pasta dish, and one dessert. The waiter was attentive however the host was clueless in regards to our reservation. Loved the location and interior design. Decent food but overall underwhelmed. View all feedback.
Food was good. Service was oh so slow. Took 30 minutes for coffee to be delivered. Reminded waiter twice about water. Good presentation of food.
I’ve been looking for a spot to work in from in South Philly, and stumbled upon this place, after another one disappointed me. Love everything here! The atmosphere, the coffee is just the right amount of bitter, not burnt like in many coffee shops across America, the almond milk that they use (heads up vegan people, it’s Califa farms! . The cafe is super cozy and the staff is friendly. Will be back ☺ï¸
Really cute café. Maybe my problem was the bar that was set prior to arriving here. I was under the impression that this was one of the best sandwich places in Philly. Needless to say after sampling two award winning sandwiches (the Barcelona and one with chicken and pesto) I was left puzzled. Not only did each sandwich coat about $12 each but the bread was so hard it felt like I was biting into a $3 steak (tough) and the flavors were so bland the most enjoyable part of the meal was the salad that accompanied my overpriced and underwhelming sandwich. I hope my experience was a one-off flub. I'm not sure how anything so plain and bland deserves an award, but with that said the staff was nice and the atmosphere is super hipster chic. If you want that vibe this is a cute and intimate choice.
Nice looking cafe with large windows that open for fresh air. They are situated on a bright corner. The staff is friendly enough but they were excessively slow in seating me, and other guests, slow in taking orders, and slow in turning over tables. It didn't seem to be very busy but perhaps the staff was new. The food was ok. They can't modify meals to accommodate many food sensitivities. They do have gluten free bread.
Very cozy here. Easy to relax with good friends. Food is excellent here it's good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also good for evening cocktails in an intimate setting. Robb, Sims, and Natalie are all awesome. They'll make you a great cocktail and ensure you feel welcomed. Highly recommend.
