Citing Middle Child in Center City Philadelphia, the recent NY Times article in the Food Section re great sandwiches around the country, was right on the money: The turkey sandwich with cheese and house-made blueberry jam on a fresh ciabatta roll is superb--really, one of the best sandwiches I've eaten anywhere! Not to mention state of the art breakfast sandwiches prepared by an energetic crew in a slick setting to t... View all feedback.

This is my favorite sandwich shop in Philadelphia and I frequent often; however I’ve noticed a serious decline in service quality, and it’s really disappointing. This is my favorite sandwich shop in Philadelphia and I frequent often; however I’ve noticed a serious decline in service quality, and it’s really disappointing. So many guys on the line and yet it’s chaos- orders taking forever, and this last time, I received the wrong order, but didn’t realize until I got all the way home because it was labeled correctly. I ordered the surfer and received the shopsin club, a very different sandwich. Didn’t bother calling, they’re too busy inside to care.Middle Child sandwich shop is so much better than Clubhouse… I wish the same attention could be paid to this location. Way too much money spent and wasted as I am allergic to avocado.
As a certified breakfast sandwich connoisseur (and possible snob? this place was on my must try, list for my weekend in Philly. It absolutely didn 't disappoint!I ordered the standard breakfast sandwich and added a hashbrown as so many of the reviews I read before suggested! After walking a few blocks to enjoy my breakfast in beautiful Washington Square and finding a cozy bench, I unwrapped the surprisingly heavy sandwich, took a big bite and was blown away! The eggs were so fluffy and perfectly cooked, the cheese was sharp and melty (and I 'm usually not an American cheese fan, the arugula added great texture and freshness, and the hashbrown just took the whole thing over the top!I was also thrilled to see that they carried Topo Chico! There were also lots of other pantry goodies (hot sauce, gourmet condiments, cute shirts etc. I can 't wait to come back and try some of the other sandwiches on the menu!
Amazing sandwich! And the pickles were the best I've ever had. I highly recommend them to everyone that visits Philly! And the GF bread was great!
Such a great experience here! We stumbled upon this locations for Saturday brunch and got the veggie Felicia and the breakfast sandwich. Both were really delicious and I would recommend. The service was very quick and helpful. The ambiance is hip. Although the restaurant is small, the turnover is quick so that seats are readily available if you'd like to sit down. Overall, a wonderful brunch experience and I would come back!
On first glance, these are $15 sandwiches that include ingredients like blueberry chutney, cranberry miso mayo, or artichoke relish. There are fun green smiley faces everywhere and the whole thing feels designed more for an Instagram post than for eating. It's the kind of thing I don't want to like, but then I try it and before I know it I'm telling everybody that a turkey sandwich without blueberry chutney isn't even worth eating. Hype and branding aside, these are just really good sandwiches. It's even hard to get lunch at Wawa for $15 these days, so I can't really complain about the price. If you eat in it's more than worth it.
