Food was good some dishes were better than others. It wasn't too crowded so it wasn't too loud. Service was slow. We would have had more drinks and maybe dessert but the wait staff weren't very attentive. View all feedback.
My wife and I have never been to Helm. Their menu caught my eye so we made a reservation. The food exceeded our expectations. The portions aren't your typical size, so expect to order a few. We had 3 plates for 2 people, plus 2 desserts, and were stuffed. Each dish was very unique and packed with lots of different flavors. And the service was great. All servers at the restaurant seem to really enjoy working there. Definitely a unique experience that will have us coming back!
Had a wonderful first meal here recently! The food was delicious, the cocktails hit the spot, and the service was excellent. We even made room for dessert because we enjoyed each course so much we figured we had to have it lol. Definitely will be back!
Starting off, when you walk in the restaurant, we all quickly noticed that it was very loud inside, and hard to have a conversation without talking loudly. The service was okay, we ordered bread (which cost $3 for three very small slices) and it took them about 10 minutes to give it to us. It also wasn't particularly busy so there wasn't really a reason. Other then that they gave us drinks quickly, and the food came relatively quickly. I attached a picture of the menu because I couldn't find one online, but it seems to change relatively often. The portions seemed a little small at first, but I found this caused you to savor the flavors more. And at the end of the meal, I did feel that I was full anyway. The Food: Fennel Ravioli The ravioli was delicious, it tasted very fresh, the prosciutto was good and it was overall a great dish. The only thing was that it was too salty, but I've found that with any dish containing prosciutto. Lamb The lamb itself, it had great flavor, and was perfectly cooked. The cut of meat however, was not the best and it was pretty tough. What we thought was the highlight of the meal was the dishes accompanying the lamb. They had a cabbage that was cooked for 18 hours which was delicious. It almost melted in your mouth, but was still crunchy. There was also a lamb pâté which was very good. Branzino This was also delicious. The fish was cooked very well and had good flavor. Underneath the fish, was chorizo, clams, and fingerling potatoes. I felt that the fish could have been better without the clams, as there were almost too many flavors. (I also attached a picture of this dish) Overall, I would give Helm Rittenhouse 3.5 stars. There were some highlights, but also some disappointments. The service was okay, and it was a bit overpriced for what it was. We also felt they shouldn't have charged for a few pieces of bread. One thing to keep in mind was that they didn't have and vegetarian/vegan main dishes on the menu, although they probably would make something for you if you asked.
Went to Helm this weekend and the food and service were great! From the start when we made our reservation for a larger party, the staff was extremely accommodating and easy to work with. We were promptly sat upon arrival and our server, Tyler, was very attentive and easygoing! Overall, we had a great experience everything was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was clean and inviting (and the lamb was delicious! . I highly recommend stopping by for your next dinner in Center City!
Fantastic Staff, Creative Food, much improved atmosphere. The new location took everything we loved about old Helm South location and made it better. The staff is very friendly and you can feel that everyone is excited about the food they are turning out. The ever changing menu keeps us interested, and the excellent execution keeps us wanting more.
