Hop Angel Brauhaus - Philadelphia

We sat at the bar for dinner. The bartenders did a great job. They were attentive and friendly. The drinks were perfect. Both schnitzel entrees were delicious. We highly recommend this for a local casual night out.

I though the food was very good. My hamburger was handmade and very good quality meat. My wife had the crab cakes which were delicious. Great beer selection. Would rate it 4 out of 5.

Good Food. I went to the Hop Angel the second week it was open on Thursday night and the food was really good. I had the sauerbraten as an entree and my husband had the wiener schnitzel. We both really enjoyed our meals and the beers we chose to accompany them. The service was good we had no issues. Our order was taken quickly and the food came out in a timely manner and our server was attentive and on top of things. I normally don't review a place right after it opens since usually there are issues to be worked out right after opening but since I had a good experience and will definitely go back I decided to add my review anyway.

This restaurant specializes in traditional German favorites such as bratwurst and beer. They have a full bar and two large screen TVs showing sports channels. The potato pancakes, kielbasa with pierogies, and German potatoes were delicious. It is quiet before dinner time, but can get loud and crowded during happy hour. The staff is nice and there is free parking in the back with entrances in the front and in the lot. However, the traffic to turn into the restaurant can be slow.

Went here for the first time today and enjoyed our meals. The burgers and the garlic fries were great! The brie burger was delicious. Would return if I'm in the area again. FYI they discontinued their German menu in October 2019, and have switched to an American menu.
