Great mood. Originally was empty, but we had our company, then all came from our boat slowly. better choose Hive, compared to Happy Bar. Hookah, pool. Food is great. Hookah and food is separated from the bar, so pay different times. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hive Pakbeng:
This is really the only place to go for the nightlife in pakbeng, they have a beer pong table and a pool table. The music can be chosen by the customers via YouTube so that's a bonus. But what sold it to us was the owner. He's very kind and considerate and wasn't pushy, that's why we came here. The place got pretty busy after about 9.30. Basic and small bar though so beware. Really beautiful place with great cocktails. We talked to the owner Don who invited us on a local village tour the next day. What a great experience.
A bit out the way but absolutely worth a visit. The best place to spend the night stopping over on the slow boat. Viengdum the owner is the nicest person and a great introduction to Lao culture. The bar is a great size and you can even play pool with the bartenders. Beer pong and choosing your own music is also a plus, and best of all it’s the cheapest bar in Pakbeng. Definitely worth a try!
The young owner of the place is trying to save some money to help his parents living in a remote countryside. He’s got his younger sister and nephew living with him and he provides for their schooling. The owner is a very nice guy and speaks good enough English to tell you about his country and culture. Support this young man by spending a few dollars in his bar.
