Estaminet L'Ecole - Phalempin

We stopped here for dinner en-route from Lille to the Somme Battlefield. It was a good choice. A charming restaurant, not surprisingly from its name, in an old school building! It was quite crowded and obviously very popular with locals, always a good sign. It was fun trying to make a choice from the French menu, with a bit of help from the waiter. We weren't 100% sure what we were ordering but we needn't have worried. The food was lovely and the service good and attentive.

Like the name says, like old school ambience and typical regional food. Exceptional desert Merveilleux white chocolate and speculoos !! I will repeat it so soon!
