.... For our last lunch of the holiday. We'd chosen this as all we wanted was a simple lunch - steak hache frites for 3, moules provencale for one and a pichet of rose. Steak haches were fine - moist, cooked well if a little under seasoned. Frites were more chips than expected but again well cooked. The main problem was the moules were brought out about 15 mins after the other mains, with an apology yes, but surely any kitchen will hold back dishes until all are ready?The rose was quite sharp too. Overall cost with 2 menthe a l'eau, a coke and a pression was 62.50. Yes, it was ok. Not great, not bad just ok.
It was our first night in pezenas and it was a Monday evening after a festival weekend so that the choice was limited. this must not, however, be distracted from the excellent of the meal we enjoyed! the fruits of the mers consisted of 500g mush, 6 oysters and 6 garnels, all beautifully presented and their magret de canard was beautifully cooked and also presented. good wine also at the karaffe! it turned out much better than expected!
Average eating and ok service do not disturb. my salat had many small beetles in it, alive and dead, they had not washed the salat. big! I counted at least 5. it was very unfit and I didn't eat it. when the...he asked me why I would leave it and I politely told him about the insects, he was rude and seemed angry at me. he didn't offer a replacement or no money from the bill.
Fabulous location. Decidedly average food. I wouldn't bother going again. Food nice but not exceptional. Service average, not rude, just not quick.
This restaurant is in a beautiful location in the main square in the heart of Pezenas old town. Service was friendly and attentive, but we had mixed views on the food. My wife and son really enjoyed theirs but I chose the Moules Mariner Maison...and Frites which were extremely disappointing. Served in a very watery sauce with undercooked onions, and the beards not removed from the mussels. Mussels tasted okay but the rest was very bland. Chips were okay. Reasonable prices.
