I have been going to this location since I was young as the Golden anchor. Grew up and had a great time with friends for many years every weekend. As names and owners changes we moved away and rarely went back. New owners brought it back to glory days. Great casual feel. Good food and reasonable pricing. Had the fish fry tonight. Great portion and cooked well. I ordered a salad in place of the fry's, no problem. Wife... View all feedback.
What Sarah M doesn't like about Golden Anchor:
All I want to do is like this place since it's so close to our house. Honestly, this place hasn't been good since Dylan's. We would literally be here every weekend if we got get good food. If the owners think this food is good, they need to outsource it. They should also visit the Nashotah Clubhouse. Always packed. I know it's hard running a restaurant so not trying to pile it on, but this place should be jammed pack... View all feedback.
This place is closed. It's torn down. No restaurant or bar whatsoever stands on the property.
Let me start by saying that this is the absolute worst restaurant I have ever been to in terms of service, quality of food, and basically everything else. A group of 4 of us walked in on a Saturday night and I would say the place was about half full. We ordered drinks and that took about 10 minutes for two white claws and 2 beers. We then ordered our food, I was sharing the bourbon roasted chicken with my husband, another order of the same and a surf and turf plate for the other couple. She ordered a side salad to come out before our dinner and that took atleast 15 minutes for a plate of mixed greens and dressing. She tasted the dressing and it was like dill dip. She asked the waitress for ranch and proceeded to bring out the same exact dressing that tasted like dill and not ranch. Another 45 minutes later we finally got our dinner and looked good initially. The boys meals the bourbon roasted chicken was actually very tasty and the chicken was moist so no complaints there. My friend ordered a fillet on top of crab which was actually canned tuna and was completely watered down and was so fishy, it was terrible. The fillet was overcooked and it came with a side of precisely 3 burnt asparagus. She complained about the seafood part and how watery it was and waitress was extremely rude about it. She said she would make a new one but at this point we did not want to wait another 45 more minutes so she took it off the bill thankfully. She then proceeded to tell the cook, the cook walked out of the kitchen door while the waitress pointed to us from across the dining room as if to tell the cook that we were the terrible group of customers. Extremely disrespectful and rude. See the photo its self explanatory. I wish you take your business elsewhere as there are plenty other great places on the lake to eat.

Service has always been hit or miss the servers are super nice and running around like crazy but they are always understaffed. And now no hostess. Good food hides all other flaws. This isn't it...please keep trying.
I heard this location reopened as The Sea Board restaurant. Stopped in on a Saturday evening and it was dead. That should have been a good indication right there that this place has a problem. No one greeted us as we walked in and I was shocked to see how crummy the décor was. Bright pastel colored picnic tables in the dining room...really. I'm glad I wasn't wearing a good dress and heals that night. Sat at the bar, ordered a drink and looked at their very sparse, boring menu. Not much going on here. Unless you're in the mood for an indoor picnic with an uninspired menu don't bother.
You fired an amazing Chef because when you hired him you decide that you now can't afford shame on you I'm going to guess moving forward the quality of your food is going to go on the toilet just like your management
