We had brunch at French Twist this morning before going to the movies at The Barracks, on the outskirts of the Brisbane CBD.It's worth noting that there was not much around of a similar ilk within the Barracks complex that was open for a Sunday brunch. We managed to get a table (is was quite busy), ordered and paid for food and drink at the counter, took a table number and the food was delivered to the table. All the f... Had a girls breaky here on recommendation. Terrible service, the guy dumped the food and almost ran without saying a word. 20 min wait and the food was very average. View all feedback.
A very nice place with well made pastries and great coffee , everything is well presented and very tasty
It has been far too long since a coffee afternoon at the French Twist ! Sadly, on calling in, the outlet is now CLOSED , they will be sadly missed !!
We have eaten at French Twist on a number of occasions and have never been very impressed. We have bought some cakes and sweets from there over time and they have been very good but their breakfast is below par. The only reason we ate there recently was that there was nowhere else open. My wife's first choice of the potato roesti was met with the response that it was not available-so why have it on the menu or at least make sure you have the ingredients available to complete your menu! She ended up having the Haloumi dish which she said was tasty but average. I had the poached eggs and bacon which is something that you would expect should be easy to do well. But no-the eggs were overcooked and the bacon undercooked. Both of our meals were served wit "artisan sourdough bread" which quite frankly was abysmal. Certainly won't bother going back for breakfast again.
Almost reluctant to review this restaurant, as next time I go I won't get a seat. Breakfast was amazing, I had the potato roesti and hubby had the bacon
