Marcoola Chinese - Petrie Creek

One of the worst tasting chinese meals we have ever eaten. We are visiting Coolum. I shouldn't have given this restaurant the benefit of doubt. We spent $90 and not one dish was tasty from the Won Ton Soup, Spring Rolls, Chicken w Vegetables, Mongolian Lamb, to the Fried Rice was any good. Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere. By the way - this is the first time I have taken the time to write a review. I felt it was needed in this case.

I met with Simon on a very quiet Thursday night, slightly sceptical of the Chinese food having lived on the sunshine coast for a number of years and only ever finding one Chinese restaurant that lived up to expectations (and it closed down)... I ordered beef chow main, spring rolls and fried rice (not your usual combination but it's a standard for me). Admittedly, not the best Chinese I've ever had but the food was Good, fresh and tasty. Simon tells me that he uses fresh produce where possible, natural sauces and no MSG. I don't mind a bit of MSG in my food as I don't react to it like others do, but I respect those restaurants that take pride in the food they produce. Simon was a friendly host from whom I would happily order again. Please try this place as good, friendly service is hard to find and good Chinese food on the sunshine coast is even harder.

Loved eating at this very traditional Chinese Restaurant. Staff were very friendly and the food was awesome. Great combinations not tried before. Would definitely eat here again when up that way.

Can't believe the reviews that say best on coast. Saving grace was friendly and welcoming service. Had a very average meal as a dine in experience. Decided to sample takeaway next night - a bad choice greasy, soggy spring rolls and the "Special Fried Rice" was anything but special - it was a tasteless mass of rice with the skimpiest of inclusions - almost needed a magnifying glass to find the other ingredients! So service was very good but not enough to make up for poor food which after all is the main game!
