The place was not that busy but they only had 2 waitresses.... read more My husband and I stopped in the Petoskey Big Boy tonight and were very disappointed in the service. The place was not that busy but they only had 2 waitresses. We waited to be seated, while others were told to sit where they wanted. We chose to have the soup and salad bar to save on time. Hardly anything was marked.. 2 of the 4 soups had signs in them. My husband had to ask what the Jello was because it looked like a sauce. Once the waitress took our order and brought our water, she never returned to our table, not to ask how things were, or if wanted anything more, nor to take away dirty dishes or leave us a bill. While we were eating, a young lady brought up 3 empty glasses to the counter and asked for refills because obviously they weren't being served well either. Whoever the manager of the place is, they should be in there helping out. Even if you are short on help you should still return to your table at least once to see how things are... We left no tip because we didn't receive any service!! We will not return there nor recommend it!

The waffles were excellent, and the biscuits and gravy were quite good as well. However, the bacon and sausage were just average. It’s worth mentioning that we arrived at 1:30 PM, and the buffet closes at 2 PM, so some items weren't as fresh as others. Overall, the restaurant was clean but quite small, and there’s no play area for kids, which is a big downside for me. Because of that, I have to deduct a star from my rating. It’s disappointing because I would love to eat here every week if there were a play area, but now it’s more of an occasional visit. On a positive note, I do appreciate the free buffet for children under 12—there’s nothing better than free!

Waiter never checked back to see everything was alright. Management needs to step in and train people better. One friendly waitress in the whole place

This is a great spot, conveniently located and popular among those visiting Petoskey for doctor's appointments, making it a perfect place for breakfast or lunch... read more This is a great spot, conveniently located and popular among those visiting Petoskey for doctor's appointments, making it a perfect place for breakfast or lunch. I’ve been here a few times and have always experienced quick and friendly service. During one of my lunches, I enjoyed the salad bar, which offered a fantastic selection of options. They have plenty of toppings to customize your salad, and at least four different soups to choose from. On another visit, I tried the tomato basil soup, and it was excellent as well.
