With a group of 14 in the busiest time (dinner) this place was amazing. eating was great, amazing. for a small place and only one server. emma was the best, super apologetic (which was not necessary) and was simply super friendly and super nice all the time. will eat again and again when they visit petoskey! a brisket very comparable to texas! damn good stuff!
I broke in to eat something and I will definitely return. the pulled pork sandwich was tasteful and perfectly balanced with the supplement of the tie on it! and their pommes were delicious. do not sleep on this place, they will love it!

When it was up in smoke it was my favorite local restaurant. Now its a breakfast and lunch joint and they have abandoned the BBQ dinner menu. If its the same owners, i am sure its good.I am sad to have lost my favorite local restaurant for dinner.
Huge omlete with hashbrowns, beautiful interior. Very friendly will be back to try lunch. **** Mary's available didn't try but looked good!
We were feeling hungry, and I was in the mood for a mimosa. The restaurant is very clean, but the food is quite standard for breakfast. If you're looking for a Bloody Mary to accompany your meal, this is a good spot, especially if you want to avoid the trip to the south end of town.
This is a fairly new restaurant located on the main highway just a few miles north of downtown Petoskey. They serve breakfast and lunch, closing at 2:00 p.m. I met a friend there, and we ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a western omelet. We both found our choices to be delicious and reasonably priced.
Best breakfast in town. Be prepared—portions are HUGE. Great coffee, awesome omelettes. Low prices.

We got to Up in Smoke around 8:10 pm after a late evening of snowboarding at Boyne Mtn. Servers were extremely friendly and said we had time to order before kitchen would close. Delicious chicken wings! Pulled brisket and shredded chicken were slightly dry.Clean facility and nicely decorated. Will definitely return when we are in the area again, and arrive earlier!
I almost never write a review and am only doing this one to get the owners to rethink their no substitutions policy. I have been a diabetic for 30 years and have myself on a stricked diet when asked for a substitution for the potatoes and toast at breakfast they said absolutely not. I have been in the retail industry for 20 years and accommodating customers is good to a point. Theirfood is good and wait staff is good and its clean inside. Its a good place to eat just don't ask for any variations.
