Contribute FeedbackNestled in Peterborough, the Toby Carvery offers a blend of commendable service and hearty meals, celebrated by many patrons for its warm, inviting atmosphere. Despite a strong selection of meats and vegetables, feedback highlights inconsistently served food temperatures, averaging colder than preferred. While the staff, particularly Daniel and Franchesca, shine with their attentiveness and friendliness, a few dishes, such as the cauliflower cheese and gravy, fell short in flavor. Overall, diners appreciate the comfortable environment and welcoming service, though a few adjustments in food preparation could elevate this dining experience to five-star status.
My family friend and I went as it was my daughter’s birthday and she loves the food there as do we all. One friend is disabled. When my disabled friend and I went up to the carvery. The lovely chef dishing out the meat was wonderful she helped my friend back to our table with her plateful and gave her a pot of gravy. The meat and veg were delicious and I told her do. The waitress who served us with drinks was very sweet and she brought us plates and cutlery afterwards as we had taken a birthday cake.
I haven't been to this Toby Carvery in years. I didn't feel like cooking a roast dinner and doing the dishes, so I thought we would go to Toby Carvery since they are known for their expertise in roast dinners. The meat selection was good, but the lamb was quite fatty and it seemed like they didn't bother to trim off the fatty bits. The beef was also fatty, while the turkey and gammon were leaner. The roast potatoes were average, and the cabbage and carrots were okay. The cauliflower cheese was terrible - overcooked and drowned in a bland, watery sauce. The gravy was also bland. The only redeeming factor was the Yorkshire pudding. The glass of wine was overpriced, with the cheapest option not available so we ended up paying £8 for a glass of Shiraz that you could buy a bottle of for £5.50. In total, we spent £65 for 3 people including one wine, one beer, and a J20, which was not worth it. The waiter, Mario, was friendly and professional, but the whole experience felt like a conveyor belt. I won't be returning to this Toby Carvery.
I love dining at this restaurant. I always make sure to stop by when I'm visiting family in Peterborough. The food is consistently excellent and the staff are very friendly. Lydia is always there to help and make me laugh. I can't wait for my next visit.
We love a good Toby Carvery. This one was no exception with great tasting meat and vegetables. Choice was a little more limited than some restaurants but this was offset with the wonderful customer service we received from our young waitress Zoe.
We came for a meal with our lovely friends, the greeting from the staff at reception was warm and welcoming. We were shown to our table and were very swiftly greeted by a member of staff called Daniel. What can I say about Daniel? From the moment he approached our table, he was very friendly, wearing a lovely smile, he took our order for our drinks, when he came back with the glasses, he very kindly, without hesitation, offered to go and get our drinks for us. Throughout our visit, he was very attentive, helpful and very pleasant. Thank you Daniel for making out visit that little bit more special. There is only one tip I can give Toby Carvery, PLEASE clone Daniel!
